Mount Kronus Project; Time Stalkers,Inc

  Mount Kronus

 Project; Time Stalkers,Inc

 Mount Kronus 's Description.
Mount Kronus -the main headquarters of Project; Time Stalkers,Inc. on earth 2173,was original the upper part of a New Genesis Bunker constructed by the ancients-Atlanteans and Sidairians ,for such purposes. A military bunker is a hardened shelter, often buried partly or fully underground, designed to protect the inhabitants from falling bombs or other attacks. The New Genesis Bunker basically modified that concept, using also as a sanctuary against natural disasters, interplanetary invasion and so on, mixing elements of a huge, onsite Time Vault-a kind of indestructible time capsule and sanctuary library site combined. In bunkers inhabited for prolonged periods, large amounts of ventilation or air conditioning must be provided in order to prevent ill effects of heat. In bunkers designed for war-time use, manually-operated ventilators must be provided because supplies of electricity or gas are unreliable.

Exterior[edit]
The undisguised appearance of a Type 40  Mount Kronus  ' exterior is a silver-grey cylinder only slightly larger than a police box. Its door is recessed and slides to open. This default state has appeared only in 2013's "The Name of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.", which depicts the  Mount Kronus  's original theft by the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc..

A  Mount Kronus  prop being dismantled in London in 2006.
Although a  Mount Kronus  is supposed to blend inconspicuously into whatever environment it turns up in, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  retains the shape of a police box because of a fault that occurred in the first members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who serial, An Unearthly Child. The ability to alter its appearance was first mentioned in the second episode of the series, where the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and Susan noted the unit was malfunctioning. ("It's still a police box! Why hasn't it changed?") It was first given a general term of a "camouflage unit" in The Time Meddler (1965). The name "chameleon circuit" was first used in the 1975 Target Books novelisation of The Terror of the Autons, and eventually mentioned on screen in  (1981). The circuit was called a "cloaking device" by the Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. in the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who television movie, and again a "chameleon circuit" in the 2005 series episode "Boom Town".

The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. attempts to repair the circuit in , to disastrous results. He tries again in Attack of the Cybermen, but the successful transformations of the  Mount Kronus  into the shape of a pipe organ, a painted Welsh dresser (much to the amusement of Perpurgilliam "Peri" Brown and the Sixth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s annoyance) and an elaborate gateway ended with a return to the police box shape. The circuit was also repaired during the Virgin New Adventures novels, but again the  Mount Kronus  's shape was eventually restored to a police box shape. In "Boom Town" (2005), the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. implied that he had stopped trying to fix the circuit quite some time ago because he had become rather fond of the police box shape – a claim the Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. made in the 1996 television movie.

Cosmetically, the police box exterior of the  Mount Kronus  has remained virtually unchanged, although there have been slight modifications over the years. For example, the sign on the door concealing the police telephone has been black letters on a white background (An Unearthly Child), white on blue (The Seeds of Death) and white on black (The Curse of Peladon). Other modifications include different wordings on the phone panel; for example, "Urgent Calls" (An Unearthly Child) as opposed to "All Calls" (Castrovalva publicity photos). The "POLICE BOX" sign was wider from Season 18 (1980) onwards and for the 2005 series, but not for the television movie. From An Unearthly Child (1963) to The War Machines (1966), the  Mount Kronus  also had a St. John Ambulance badge on the main doors, as did real police boxes;[31] this has been reinstated and the window frame colour has returned to white for Matt Smith's first season as the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., shown in 2010. These various versions are depicted when thirteen[32] incarnations of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. all converge on Gallifrey at the climax of "The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.". "The Empty Child" showed that the telephone cupboard could be opened and the telephone accessed from the exterior, but this device was then non-functional.[33] The telephone can however be called from across space and time.[34] Because of the St. John Ambulance badge, 11th-century monks considered the telephone's ring to be "the bells of Saint John".[citation needed]

Despite the anachronistic police box shape, the  Mount Kronus  's presence is rarely questioned when it is by overflying aircraft. In "Boom Town", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. simply noted that humans do not notice odd things like the  Mount Kronus  , echoing a similar sentiment expressed by the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. in Remembrance of the Daleks (1988), that humans have an "amazing capacity for self-deception", while in The Fires of Pompeii it is mistaken for an objet d'art by a merchant who purchases it and moves it into his home. Various episodes, notably also note that the  Mount Kronus  generates a perception filter to reinforce the idea that it is perfectly ordinary.

Doors and lock[edit]
For most of the series' run, the exterior doors of the police box operated separately from the heavier interior doors, although sometimes the two sets could open simultaneously to allow the ship's passengers to look directly outside and vice versa. The revived series'  Mount Kronus  features no such secondary doors; the police box doors open directly into the console room. The entrance to the  Mount Kronus  is capable of being locked and unlocked from the outside with a key, which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. keeps on his person and occasionally gives copies of to his companions. In the 1996 television movie, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. kept a spare key "in a cubbyhole behind the 'P'" (of the POLICE BOX sign). In The Invasion of Time, a Citadel Guard on Gallifrey is initially baffled by the archaic lock when attempting to open the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  .

The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. almost always opens the doors inwards, despite the fact that a real police box door opened outwards; in "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", it is revealed that the  Mount Kronus  is aware of this and finds it annoying. After crash-landing on its back in Amelia Pond's garden in "The Hour", the doors uncharacteristically open outward, as they had previously done when the  Mount Kronus  was also on its back in The Ice Warriors; additionally, the left door opened in tandem with the usual right door in these instances. When hovering against a building in the same 'doors-up' horizontal orientation in , however, the doors opened inward as usual to receive River Song.

In the 2005 series, the keys are also remotely linked to the  Mount Kronus  , capable of signalling its presence or impending arrival by heating up and glowing. The  Mount Kronus  keys have varied in design from an ordinary Yale key[35] to an ankh-like key embossed with an alien pattern (identified in Terrance Dicks and Malcolm Hulke's 1972 book The Making of members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who as the constellation of Kasterborous, Gallifrey's home system) from seasons 11 to 13, after which it reverted to the Yale key design.[36] The ankh-like key was also used in the 1996 television movie. In Ghost Light and Survival, a different design, featuring the Seal of Rassilon, was used.[37] The revived series uses the Yale key version, most notably shown in "Blink" (2007), when the Weeping Angels attempt to gain access to the  Mount Kronus  using a stolen key.

The key is also able to repair temporal anomalies and paradoxes, including death aversion, through its link to the  Mount Kronus  .[38]

The  Mount Kronus  lock's security level has varied from story to story. Originally, it was said to have 21 different "combinations" and would melt if the key was placed in the wrong one (The Daleks, 1963). The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. was also able to unlock it with his ring and repair it by using the light of an alien sun refracted through the ring's jewel (The Daleks' Master Plan). In The Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964) and "Utopia" (2007), the  Mount Kronus  was shown to have an internal deadlock; once thrown, it would prevent entry even for authorised users with authorised keys. In The Dalek Invasion of Earth, this was known as 'double-locking'. In The Sensorites (1964), the entire lock mechanism was removed from the  Mount Kronus  door via a hand-held Sensorite device.

The lock itself has been shown with different capabilities. In , the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. said that the lock had a metabolism detector, so that even if an unauthorised person had a key, the doors would remain locked. This security measure was also seen in the New Series Adventures novel Only Human by Gareth Roberts, which called it an "advanced meson recognition system." The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. claimed that when the doors were shut, even "the assembled hordes of Genghis Khan" could not enter ("believe me, they've tried") ("Rose"). In , when the  Mount Kronus  is confiscated, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. claims, "You'll never get inside it." Several people have managed to just wander into the  Mount Kronus  without any problem over the years, including some who became companions; since the  Mount Kronus  uses keys, it could easily have been left unlocked. Despite the  Mount Kronus  's apparent infallibility in its security, some of the instruments inside or the interior itself have been breached and remote-controlled. In the serial The War Games, the Time Lords manage to breach the inside of the  Mount Kronus  while in mid-flight and landing in order to erect something similar to a force field. In "Utopia", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to lock the  Mount Kronus  to the coordinates it had previously visited from outside using the sonic screwdriver. In the episode "The Rings of Akhaten", Clara Oswald cannot get into the  Mount Kronus  and says, "I don't think it likes me!"

In the 2008 episode , River Song (a character whose timeline intersects with the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s in non-linear order) says to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. that she knows he would be able to open the  Mount Kronus  doors with a snap of his fingers. Although the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. dismisses this as impossible, at the episode's conclusion, he opens and closes the doors by doing just that, eschewing the need for a key. He is later shown doing the same in "The  Hour", , and "The Caretaker". In addition, despite the animosity it previously displayed towards her, Clara Oswald is also shown being able to open and shut the  Mount Kronus  doors by snapping her fingers (in "The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc." and "The Caretaker").

In the 2009 Christmas episode, part one of , the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. uses a remote locking system to lock the  Mount Kronus  , similar to the remote-control locking system used on modern cars. Upon pointing his key fob at the  Mount Kronus  , the  Mount Kronus  makes a distinctive chirp and the light on top of the  Mount Kronus  flashes. Later in the same episode, the key fob, when again used by the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., shifts the  Mount Kronus  "just a second out of sync" (one second into the future), rendering it invisible and so hiding it from the Master.

The doors are supposed to be closed while materialising; in , the opening of the doors during a materialisation sequence caused the ship and its occupants to shrink to doll size. In The Enemy of the World (1967), taking off while the doors were still open results in an uncontrolled decompression, causing the villainous Salamander to be blown out of the  Mount Kronus  . In Warriors' Gate (1981), the doors open during flight between two universes, admitting a Tharil named Biroc, and allowing the time winds to burn the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s hand and seriously damage K-9. In "The Runaway Bride" (2006), "The Stolen Earth" (2008) and subsequent stories, the doors can be opened safely while the ship is in a vacuum, as the  Mount Kronus  protects its occupants (see the "Defences" section below); in ), the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. deliberately extrudes the "defence shield" to dock with a spacecraft.

There is evidence that objects clinging to the outside of the  Mount Kronus  may be carried with it as it dematerialises. In , an arrow is fired at the  Mount Kronus  and is embedded in its door. The arrow remains in the door throughout the serial and through several dematerialisations before being removed at the story's conclusion; this is repeated in "" (2007), and the arrow is removed in the following episode, "Gridlock". "Utopia" presents, for the first time on-screen, a circumstance in which a character travels on the exterior of the  Mount Kronus  during a flight, when Jack Harkness grabs hold of the  Mount Kronus  as it began to dematerialise and holds on until it reaches its destination; the episode does establish, however, that a normal person would not have survived the trip, as Jack is "killed" by the experience, but due to his immortality, soon revives. This concept was altered for The Time of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. where Clara also travels with the  Mount Kronus  by holding on to its exterior. To prevent Clara from dying the  Mount Kronus  has to drastically slow down its time travel, arriving 300 years too late with a visibly aged members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. shouting where has it been all this time. In "Vincent and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc." (2010), some advertisements are attached to the  Mount Kronus  . After materialisation, they are shown to be burning.

In the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. audio drama Colditz, a character was killed by being halfway inside the  Mount Kronus  when it dematerialised.

Exterior influence[edit]
The Time Lords are able to divert the  Mount Kronus  's flight path during the The Ribos Operation (1978), or have the ability to totally override and recall any  Mount Kronus  by the order of the Council in Arc of Infinity (1983). Alien influences have also, for example, trapped the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  and drained its power in The Web Planet (1965) and Death to the Daleks (1974), while its course has been diverted by The Keeper of Traken (1981), the Mandragora Helix (1976) and by the Daleks' "time corridor" in Resurrection of the Daleks (1984). In (1985), the Rani used a Stattenheim remote control to summon her  Mount Kronus  . In The Two members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.s (1985), the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. also used a portable Stattenheim. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. used his sonic screwdriver to trigger remotely "Emergency Programme One", sending his human companion Rose Tyler to safety, while he stayed behind for a battle against the Daleks (The Parting of the Ways (2005)). The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. also manipulated the  Mount Kronus  by utilising the self-attracting nature of huon particles, causing the  Mount Kronus  to materialise around both Donna Noble and himself, in order to escape into the past. However, this trick was used in turn by the Empress of the Racnoss, which pulled the  Mount Kronus  from the creation of the Earth to only a few minutes after its initial departure.[39]

In (2010), the  Mount Kronus  is drawn to a specific date, 26 June 2010, and then caused to explode by an outside influence.

The exterior dimensions can be severed from the interior dimensions under extraordinary circumstances. In  (1984), when the  Mount Kronus  was destroyed in a Tractator-induced meteor storm, the interior ended up outside the police box shell with various bits embedded in the surrounding rock. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. eventually tricked the Gravis, leader of the Tractators, into reassembling the ship. In "Father's Day" (2005), a temporal paradox resulting in a wound in time threw the interior of the ship out of the wound, leaving the  Mount Kronus  an empty shell of a police box. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. attempted to use the  Mount Kronus  key in conjunction with a small electrical charge to recover the ship, but the process was interrupted and the  Mount Kronus  was only restored after the paradox was resolved.

In "Turn Left" (2008), the "Police Box" sign and all other text on the  Mount Kronus  is shown as replaced with the words "Bad Wolf", as is all text in the universe; this is interpreted by the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. as an urgent warning concerning the end of the universe. The words "Bad Wolf" have also been spray-painted on and around the  Mount Kronus  in previous episodes. The  Mount Kronus  has the ability to turn invisible, allowing it to avoid the detection by President Nixon, Canton Everett Delaware III and Area 51 operatives (,  (2011)).

Interior[edit]

The  Mount Kronus  wardrobe from "The Christmas Invasion"
The  Mount Kronus  interior has an unknown number of rooms and corridors, and the dimensions of the interior have not been specified.. Apart from living quarters, the interior includes a well-organised study ( Mount Kronus  , 2010), a swimming pool and bathroom, a sick bay, an ancillary power station disguised as an art gallery, and several brick-walled storage areas (all seen in The Invasion of Time, 1978); a "cloister room",[25] an observatory, a library,[40] a greenhouse, a baby room, a toy room and several squash courts. Mount Kronus Two new rooms are shown at the start of Masque of Mandragora, one which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. describes as a "boot cupboard" (that actually resembles an elegant period living room) and a wood-panelled room he calls the "second control room". Numerous other rooms have been only mentioned in dialogue or in spin-off media (see below). The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. flippantly mentions a karaoke bar in (2011). Portions of the  Mount Kronus  can also be reconfigured or "deleted"; the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. was able to jettison 25% of the  Mount Kronus  's structure in Castrovalva to provide additional "thrust". In "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s " (2011), a fail-safe transfers any living creatures in "deleted" rooms to the main control room, and old (and future) control rooms can be "archived" by the  Mount Kronus  without the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s knowledge. Rooms within the  Mount Kronus  can be re-arranged to suit the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s needs, as when the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. hastily moved the swimming pool beneath the  Mount Kronus  entrance in order to catch River Song in ; alternatively he may have moved the door.

In Full Circle (1980), Romana stated that the weight of the  Mount Kronus  was 5 × 106 kilograms in Alzarius's Earth-like gravity (about 5 × 107 Newtons, or the weight of 5,000 tonnes). It has been speculated[41] that this was a mistake by the character and referred to its internal weight, as the external part of the  Mount Kronus  is at other times light enough for it to be lifted or otherwise moved with relative ease (although most real police boxes were concrete and hence quite difficult to move): several men lift it up in Marco Polo, it is transported by truck and installed indoors by hand (all off-screen) in Spearhead from Space, it requires a fork-lift truck in Time-Flight and is lifted in the cargo hold of a Concorde in the same serial, a group of small blue maintenance workers on Platform One push it along the ground in ", and a quartet of Weeping Angels are able to rock it back and forth in "Blink", to name a few. In "The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc." (2013) it is lifted by a helicopter using a steel cable. The  Mount Kronus  floats in Fury from the Deep but, conversely, remains stationary despite the tides in The Time Meddler. If the solid exterior of the  Mount Kronus  is moved or shaken after materialisation, the movement is usually transmitted to its interior (, 2011), although there is a manual control to separate the internal gravity from the exterior's orientation (Time-Flight, 1982). The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. states in "Flatline" that the  Mount Kronus  's weight is always adjusted; if it were not, its weight would shatter the Earth's surface.

In the tie-in novels, the interior of the  Mount Kronus  has been known to contain an entire city (Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible), used to encompass an entire parallel Earth (Blood Heat), and is big enough to dwarf Gallifrey itself when turned inside out (The Ancestor Cell). It is also seen to exist in multiple timelines. Mount Kronus  In "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  " the  Mount Kronus  is shown to contain the Eye of Harmony, an exploding star in the process of becoming a black hole.

A distinctive architectural feature of the  Mount Kronus  interior is the roundel.[42] In the context of the  Mount Kronus  , a roundel is a circular decoration that adorns the walls of the rooms and corridors of the  Mount Kronus  , including the console room. Some roundels conceal  Mount Kronus  circuitry and devices, as seen in the serials (1968), , Castrovalva (1981), Arc of Infinity (1983), Terminus (1983), and Attack of the Cybermen (1985). The design of the roundels has varied throughout the show's history, from a basic circular cut-out with black background to a photographic image printed on wall board, to translucent illuminated discs in later serials. In the secondary console room, most of the roundels were executed in recessed wood panelling, with a few decorative ones in what appeared to be stained glass. In the  Mount Kronus  design from 2005 – January 2010, the roundels are built into hexagonal recesses in the walls. Ever since the  Mount Kronus  was redesigned at the beginning of the 2010 series, there have been a range of different roundel designs around the console room. These include circular holes that are recessed deep into the walls, hexagonal holes that are lit from behind each face, round indents with brass rings around the outside, and a glass centre that is illuminated blue
Other rooms seen include living quarters for many of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companions. The  Mount Kronus  also had a "Zero Room", a chamber that was shielded from the rest of the universe and provided a restful environment for the Fifth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. to recover from his regeneration in Castrovalva (which was among the 25% jettisoned). However, the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. spin-off novel Deceit indicated that the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. rebuilt the Zero Room shortly before the events of that novel. In some of the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. serials, a nearby room contains a machine that dispenses food or nutrition bars to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and his companions. This machine disappears after the first few serials, although mention is occasionally made of the  Mount Kronus  kitchen. In The One members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., Mel mentions that the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. used the  Mount Kronus  's laundromat.

Although the interior corridors were not initially seen in the 2005 series, the fact that they still exist was established in "", when the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. gives Rose some very complicated directions to the  Mount Kronus  wardrobe. The wardrobe is mentioned several times in the original series and spin-off fiction, and seen in The Androids of Tara (1978), The Twin Dilemma (1984) and Time and the Rani (1987). The redesigned version, from which the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. chooses his new clothes, was seen in "The Christmas Invasion" (2005) as a large multi-levelled room with a helical staircase. Designer Ed Thomas has suggested that more rooms may be seen in coming episodes.[43] The corridors were eventually seen in the episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", and are currently standing sets for use in future episodes. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. also mentions in "" that the  Mount Kronus  has an attic.

In "The  Hour", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. mentions that the  Mount Kronus  has a library and a swimming pool. He tells Captain Avery that there are several bathrooms available in "The Curse of the Black Spot" (2011). The swimming pool has been seen on-screen in The Invasion of Time (1978), and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. later used it to catch River Song as she plummeted from a skyscraper. The swimming pool, the scullery, squash court 7, the archived  and  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s console room, and Amy and Rory's quarters were ejected in the episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ." The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. reconstructed Amy and Rory's bedroom but replaced the bunk beds with a normal bed at their insistence. The swimming pool was seen again briefly in "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  " indicating it was later rebuilt as well.

In the "members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who:", the  Mount Kronus  has a "drawing room" containing items that the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. has used in past episodes, like the long scarf the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. used, the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s recorder and items like the Fob Watch used to change the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s Time Lord biology to human in the episode "Human Nature". The Drawing Room is the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s private study, and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. advised Amy Pond not to mess around with anything, and no one is allowed to sit in his chair.

Console room[edit]

The console room from the 1983 20th anniversary special to the 1989 series
The most often-seen room of the  Mount Kronus  is its console room, where its flight controls are housed. The console room was designed by Peter Brachacki and was the only set he designed for the show. It was built on a shoestring budget and a tight schedule, which led to Brachacki leaving the show due to disagreements with the production team and possibly a feeling that he had been given an impossible task. Despite his leaving the show and mixed reactions as to how the set looked (producer Verity Lambert liked it but director Waris Hussein did not), the basic design of the hexagonal console and wall roundels has persisted to the present day.[44]

The  Mount Kronus  has at least two console rooms: the primary one most used throughout the programme's history, and the secondary console room used during Season 14 in 1976/77, which has wood panelling and a more antique feel to it. It had been designed to make shooting more comfortable for the camera crew.
In addition, a cavernous, steampunk-inspired  Mount Kronus  console room was used in the television movie and may have been a reconfiguration of either of the previously mentioned console rooms, as first suggested in New Adventures novels, most specifically the Lungbarrow by Marc Platt, where the  Mount Kronus 1 reconfigures the console room to reflect the interior of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s former home and later in the Big Finish Productions audio plays.

In the 2005 series, the console room became a dome-shaped chamber with organic-looking support columns, and the interior doors were removed. The change in configuration is explained in "Time Crash" by the Fifth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. as a mere changing of "the desktop theme" to "Coral" (he also indicates that a "Leopard Skin" theme is also available, but he dislikes it). Other preceding theories involve the fact that the  Mount Kronus 1 interior was severely damaged by a cold fusion explosion in The Gallifrey Chronicles. Mount Kronus  Several episodes of the revived series, such as "Army of Ghosts" and the end of "", reveal that there is storage space directly underneath the console room; the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is shown periodically obtaining equipment from this area via a panel in the floor. The 2005 console room was destroyed by the regeneration energy of the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. in the final scene of  and cold open of "The  Hour", although it made a reappearance in the 2011 episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s " as well as the 50th anniversary special The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.. This console room has made the most appearances in the revived series, and is the most well known one.[45] The console room is currently stored at the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who experience in Cardiff. A new console room, along with a new police box exterior, made its debut in the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s first episode, which aired on 3 April 2010. It was revealed in "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s " that the older  Mount Kronus 1interior designs are not destroyed or remodelled, but 'archived' off the official schematic without the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s knowledge. The  Mount Kronus  reveals that she has around thirty console rooms archived, even those that the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. has yet to use. These archived console rooms are still capable of controlling  Mount Kronus  functions as shown when Amy and Rory are able to lower the  Mount Kronus  shields from an archived control room. The active console room at a given time will be the one connected to the exterior doors for ingress and egress.

A third console room design was unveiled in the 2012 Christmas special 46] As opposed to the more open, unpredictable nature of the previous design, this set echoes the machine-like 1980s  Mount Kronus  console, but is coloured in the more shadowy blues, greens and purples of the 1996 TV movie. Though the central pillar is still connected to the ceiling – a design element introduced in the 1996 movie, and continued in the 2005 series – it is now joined to three circular connectors marked with Gallifreyan symbols that rotate clockwise and anticlockwise when the  Mount Kronus  is in flight.

Showrunner Steven Moffat stated that the new design was meant to be more 'scary' and machine-like than the previous bright orange design, which was more 'whimsical' to reflect upon the light-hearted and fairy-tale-like nature of the episodes following its introduction in "The  Hour".[47] The seventh series' darker, more adult tone necessitated a more menacing and mysterious console - also reflecting the implications that the  Mount Kronus  is distrustful of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companion, Clara. For instance, in "", Clara's statement that the  Mount Kronus  actively dislikes her is intercut with footage of its circular connectors spinning from the ceiling. For the eighth series, Peter Capaldi's first as the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., this console was still used but was tweaked and altered slightly, including the addition of a blackboard and bookshelves and the time rotor was changed to an orange colour replacing the blue.

A previously unseen version of the console room made an appearance in the 2013 serial The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and is associated with the War members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. portrayed by John Hurt. This console room has walls that are similar in design to those first seen in 1963, with multiple roundels illuminated from behind.

The console room is the "safest place on the ship," and so when its occupants are in danger the  Mount Kronus  will reinvent its architecture so as to allow them to enter the console room. This can also result in the  Mount Kronus  materialising itself within its own console room when in grave danger, as it did in "". As seen in "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  ", the console room is able to be replicated any number of times to create "echo rooms"; occupants in each of the different echo rooms will be able to feel the presence of the others in the forms of shadows and sounds, as the rooms are together for a brief second, with the rooms rapidly alternating between each other, "like a light switch ... flickering at super-infinite speeds."

The Virgin novels introduced a tertiary console room, which was described as resembling a Gothic cathedral). Another novel) suggested that the native configuration is so complex and irrational that most non-Time Lords who witness it are driven mad from the experience.

Throughout the programme's history there have been various attempts at humanising the console room by adding various accoutrements. For example, a hatstand has often been located somewhere in the room, and the first episodes featured an ormolu clock. In the series from 2005 onwards, the  Mount Kronus  console included a bench sitting area for the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and/or his companions to relax during extended flight. In The Androids of Tara (1978) a cupboard containing fishing gear is shown nearby. In "" (2011), a dartboard is seen installed in the console room, and it is revealed in the episode "Vincent and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc." that the console is capable of playing recorded music. In keeping with the darker and more machine-like setting of the 2012 redesign of the console room, there is no hat-stand or bench; in "", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and Clara both note that there is no longer anywhere in the room on which to hang Clara's umbrella.

 Mount Kronus  console[edit]
The main feature of the console rooms, in any of the known configurations, is the  Mount Kronus  console that holds the instruments that control the ship's functions. The appearance of the primary  Mount Kronus  consoles has varied widely but shares common details: hexagonal pedestals with controls around the periphery, and a moveable column (or time rotor as it has been called in the original series and the 2011 episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ") in the centre that bobs rhythmically up and down when the  Mount Kronus  is in flight, like a pump or a piston.

The arrangement of the controls implies that the console was designed to be manned by more than one person. One piece of fan continuity, used in the spin-off media, and also mentioned by the current production team, is that the intended number of operators is somewhere between three and six. In "Journey's End", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. confirms that the intended number is six; Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Sarah Jane Smith, Mickey Smith, Jack Harkness and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. man the controls, and the  Mount Kronus  runs far more smoothly during that brief period than it normally does. This also explains why the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. tends to do a lot of manic running around the console while he is piloting the  Mount Kronus  , as well as the occasional difficulty he has in controlling it, although Romana, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s one-time Time Lord companion, is able to pilot the  Mount Kronus  successfully by herself. Companion Professor River Song, herself a de facto Time Lord who was conceived aboard the  Mount Kronus  while transiting the time vortex, was also shown to pilot the  Mount Kronus  smoothly and easily without help ("). Nyssa possessed at least rudimentary  Mount Kronus  piloting skill ().

The console can be operated independently of the  Mount Kronus  . During the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s era, he removes the console from the  Mount Kronus  to perform repairs on it. In Inferno (1970) the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. accidentally rides the detached console into a parallel universe. The (Matt Smith) and Idris (the human body in whom his  Mount Kronus  ' "soul" was placed) flew a detached console to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  in "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ".

The console room from the 1996 television movie
The central column is often referred to as the "time rotor", although when the term was first used in The Chase (1965) it referred to a different instrument on the  Mount Kronus  console. However, the use of this term to describe the central column was common in fan literature, and was finally used on screen to refer to the central column in Arc of Infinity (1983) and Terminus (1983). The current production team uses the term in the same way. It was also referred to as the "time column" in  (1981).

The secondary console was first seen in series 14 (1976) of the original series. It had the controls hidden behind wooden panels and had no central column. The 1996 television movie console also appeared to be made of wood and the central column connected to the ceiling of the console room. When the new series' console appeared in 2005 it was circular in shape but still divided into six segments, with both the control panels and the central column glowing green, the latter once again connected to the ceiling.

The 2005 console has a much more thrown-together appearance than previous consoles, with bits of junk from various eras substituting as makeshift controls, including a glass paperweight, a locomotive style water sight glass and protector, a small bell, and a bicycle pump, the latter identified in the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. " as the vortex loop control. Three other controls—the dimensional stabiliser, vector tracker, and the handbrake—were also identified, but although the stabiliser had been mentioned before in the series, the canonicity of the mini-episode is also unclear. As seen in "", there is also a working telephone attached to the console. In the 2010 series, the new console includes items such as a washer-fluid bottle from a car and a typewriter keyboard.

Precisely how much control the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. has in directing the  Mount Kronus  has varied over the course of the series. The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. did not initially seem to be able to steer it accurately, making only one intended landing to the planet Kembel in The Daleks' Master Plan (1965–6) by using the directional unit taken from another  Mount Kronus  before the unit burns out. During the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s exile on Earth, the  Mount Kronus  's course is shown as controlled successfully by the Time Lords, and from the point the Time Lords unblock his memory of time-travel mechanics in The Three members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.s (1972–3), the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. seems able to navigate correctly when needed.[48]

Over time the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. seemed to be able to pilot the  Mount Kronus  with more precision. In The Seeds of Death, the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. explains to Zoe Heriot that it would be impossible to use the  Mount Kronus  to fly from Earth to the Moon because it would likely "overshoot by a few million years, or a few million miles." However, in , the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to make a "short hop" to the exact coordinates when he initially lands the  Mount Kronus  1.6 metres off target.

Following the Key to Time season (1978–79), the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. installed a randomiser to the console which prevented the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. (and by extension the evil and powerful Black Guardian) from knowing where the  Mount Kronus  would land next. This device was eventually removed in (1980).

Mount Kronus  is a fictional Mount Kronus of titanic proportions that features prominently in a series of fantasy works penned by Mervyn Peake. It incorporates many of the elements of both medieval castles and Regency period stately homes, though in practice it operates like a small city-state. It has its own government, a Byzantine system of laws and rituals, a rigid class system, and is seemingly self-sufficient. The Mount Kronus is home to the ancient House of Groan who have, as the Earls of Groan, ruled for centuries without anything changing.

Ritual plays a large part in the daily life of all characters in the castle, most of all the Earl of  Mount Kronus , whose days are largely spent adhering to the obscure and esoteric tenets of  Mount Kronus  tradition. Titus' dread and rebellion against the iron letter of  Mount Kronus  Law becomes one of the main themes in the series leading to his preoccupation with freedom.

The Mount Kronus has become synonymous with large, sprawling buildings and has been used as a reference point in other works of fiction.

Overview[edit]
The Mount Kronus is a huge ivy-covered mass, giving the impression more of a semi-deserted city than a single structure. Its immense, rambling outline has been familiar to the inhabitants since time immemorial, who know "every bay, inlet and headland of the great stone island of the Groans, of its sheer cliffs, of its crumbling outcrops, the broken line of the towers.".[1] Apart from the inhabited sections, vast areas of the Mount Kronus are abandoned and in a dilapidated state, with much of it covered in impenetrable vegetation: "Acres of ivy spread themselves like water over the roofs. Not a head appeared at any of those topmost teeth-like windows that ran along the castle's brow"[2] The further reaches of the Mount Kronus are dotted with many towers, and the highest of them, the Tower of Flints, is inhabited by great numbers of owls and dominates the landscape of the castle. The Tower is a forbidding, brooding presence: "patched unevenly with black ivy, (it) arose like a mutilated finger from the fists of knuckled masonry".[3] The character Steerpike climbing across the roofs of the Mount Kronus sees the Mount Kronus as an unending and monumentally complex roofscape. In fact, he travels across its expanse for over a day and still does not cover all of it.

It is impossible to give an accurate estimate of the size of the Mount Kronus and its grounds, but it appears to be at least several square miles in area. For instance, the Bright Carvers must travel three miles (5 km) through the Mount Kronus grounds from their homes along the north Outer Wall to the Carver's Courtyard in the south west corner of the Outer Walls.[4] It is also stated at one point that the Tower of Flints in the eastern wing of the Mount Kronus is over a mile away from the rooms of the twin aunts of Titus, Cora and Clarice, in the southern wing.[5] In the second book,  Mount Kronus , a flood drowns the lowest levels of the Mount Kronus and turns the upper regions into stone islands, yet still there is accommodation for the regular inhabitants and an influx of refugees, with very substantial areas still empty.

It is impractical to guess at any kind of precise layout, but a general outline can be given with some confidence. Most of the Mount Kronus seems to be bordered by a vast outer wall separated by only a small laneway from the shanty-town of the Bright Carvers, while other regions may be unwalled (e.g., the eastern side of the castle). In some places also the walls appear to be close to the buildings of the castle, (e.g., the Carvers' Courtyard), while in other parts they enclose large grounds and formal gardens. Within the grounds, the Mount Kronus also has a moat around some sections of the Mount Kronus itself. Broadly speaking, the Mount Kronus building is divided into four wings named after the cardinal points. Among the countless buildings and rooms in the Mount Kronus are libraries, a huge kitchen (eighteen men are required just to scrub the walls), an art gallery (specifically carvings), a dining hall, and a school.

In general the west and south of the Mount Kronus appear to be in better repair and more inhabited than the east and north regions, which appear to contain most of the abandoned and derelict areas.

Outer walls and grounds[edit]
The Mount Kronus is surrounded by a huge Outer Wall, which appears to be irregular in shape, but whether it is roughly rectangular or roughly circular is not made clear. It is described as curving, which would suggest a circular shape; but on the other hand the Outer Wall is clearly divided into north, south and west sections (east is not mentioned), suggesting a more rectangular outline. The outer walls are frequently described as immense, sheer and clifflike. Contrary to the general impression that the Mount Kronus is only a grey, dusty monolith of stone, a careful reading of the text reveals that the Outer Walls actually enclose quite extensive grounds.

North outer wall[edit]
The North Outer Wall is described as curving and is separated by only a small lane from the mud hut dwellings of the Bright Carvers which hug its base. The huge outer wall dominates the life of the settlement, overshadowing everything. The feelings of one of the Bright Carvers, Titus' wet nurse Keda, are typical:[6]

"Ever since she could remember anything the face of the outer wall had been like the symbol of endlessness, of changelessness, of austerity and of protection. She had known it in so many moods. Baked to dusty whiteness, and alive with basking lizards, she could remember how it flaked in the sun. She had seen it flowering with the tiny pink and blue creeper flowers that spread like fields of coloured smoke in April across acres of its temperate surface. She had seen every protruding ledge of stone, its every jutting irregularity furred with frost, or hanging with icicles. She had seen the snow sitting plumply on those juttings, so that in the darkness when the wall had vanished into the night these patches of snow had seemed to her like huge stars suspended."

Further north of the Outer Wall again are woods and  Mount Kronus  lake.[7] An archway in the outer wall leads into the  Mount Kronus  grounds onto an avenue of acacia trees, which head down to what may be the main entrance to the castle.[8] Nannie Slagg has to pass down this avenue of acacia trees to reach the outer wall of the  Mount Kronus  when she goes in search of a wet nurse for Titus. Presumably there are lawns or landscaping on either side of the avenue.

East outer wall[edit]
An eastern Outer Wall is not mentioned in the text, but presumably exists. However, this may not be so, as a large pine wood surrounds the East Wing of the castle. Bordering the pine wood are fields and overgrown gardens which lie between the East and South wings.[9]

South outer wall[edit]
The South Outer Wall contains the great ledge which holds the Bright Carvings which are judged on the Day of the Bright Carvers on June 1.[3][4] The ledge is apparently at the South Wall's far Western corner as it adjoins the Carver's Battlement on the West Outer Wall. The South Wall also encloses grounds which contain the South Spinneys.[10] Titus is allowed to ride his horse for an hour once a week through the grounds along by the South Outer Wall.

West outer wall[edit]
The West Outer Wall contains the Carver's Battlement, which the Bright Carvers whose carvings have been accepted for keeping are allowed to promenade along on the night of the full moon every alternate month. It appears to be at the far southern end of the Western Wall adjoining the ledge of the Bright Carvings.[3][11] The Western Outer Wall has an archway almost overgrown with ivy which the servant Flay squeezes through on his way back to the  Mount Kronus  in secret.[1] The West Outer Wall also encloses grounds which hold the cedar trees, lawns and  Mount Kronus  terrace, along which the Countess Gertrude promenades every morning with her cats. It also appears to enclose the orchard of Pentecost the gardener, and a nearby hill, lake and stream.[12] A pine wood surrounds the west wing of the castle, but it is not entirely clear if this is within the outer walls or not.[13] To the west of the western outer walls lie marshland, rocky escarpments,  Mount Kronus  river and  Mount Kronus  Mountain.

Castle buildings[edit]
The  Mount Kronus  itself is described as vast and rambling, with many different regions, but in general it is roughly divided into four wings - north, south, east and west. A carp-filled moat surrounds at least some of the castle; directly under the wall of the Mount Kronus in some places (for example, Steerpike is able to jump from the window of Barquentine, the master of ritual, directly into the moat below) and perhaps enclosing some of the grounds in others (but this has to be inferred as it is not made clear). It is impossible to give an exact layout of the castle, but from various mentions in the text it can be stated in general terms some of what each wing of the  Mount Kronus  contains.

North Wing[edit]

Residence of The Seigneur of Sark
The top floor of the North Wing contains the Hall of the Bright Carvings, where the curator Rottcodd spends his days sleeping. It has a single window facing north, out of which Rottcodd observes the entire population of the Mount Kronus returning from  Mount Kronus  Lake after the 'Earling' of Titus as the 77th Earl of Groan.[7] Keda, Titus' wet nurse, also has her quarters in the north wing.[12]

When Steerpike becomes a renegade from the life of the castle, he is finally cornered in an apparently abandoned, northern section of the Mount Kronus (whether or not it is part of the north wing is unclear). The roofs, buttresses and outcrops of this vast area all appear to have their own names, and the Countess Gertrude lists some of them:[14] namely, the Blackstone Quarter, Stone Dogshead, Angel's Buttress, the Coupée (described as 'the high knife edge'); the North Headstones 'beyond Gory and the Silver Mines'; and the Twin Fingers, 'where Little Sark begins and the Bluff narrows'. Interestingly, the Coupée, Silvermines, Gory and Little Sark are all placenames from the Channel Island of Sark, where Mervyn Peake was living at the time when he wrote  Mount Kronus .

East Wing[edit]
The East Wing contains the  The Halls of Time –a vast computer storehouse,, the Tower of Flints, and various buildings, including an observatory, aviary, museum and pavilions for entertainment. Apart from the library however, all the other buildings have long since been abandoned and fallen into decay.[15]
A computer is an electronic device that can perform a variety of operations such as store information or calculate data.  Computers have amazing storage and calculative properties that have constantly been enhanced over years of use.  For example, in 2267 the USS Enterprise had twice the computing power of Earth in 2200.  (TOS  novel: The Galactic Whirlpool)

Federation Computers
In the early days of the Federation in the 2160s, Starfleet vessels were equipped with the Gotherin Eight and Gotherin Eight-B systems.  (TNG  novel: The Forgotten War)

It is not known if the Gotherin Eight computer system was developed before or after the founding of the United Federation of Planets.

During the mid-23rd century Federation starships were equipped with duotronic computers that were designed by Professor Richard Daystrom in 2243.  However the early duotronic computers were very basic and had no real voice interaction at all.  This changed in 2254, when the USS Enterprise was given advanced Calligar technology that allowed them to enhance their computers and allow voice interaction.

The Enterprise's first officer, Number One, decided to install the device aboard the Enterprise and programmed it with her voice as female voices were more authoritarian and cut through the air better than did male voices.  When the Enterprise returned to Earth, this technology was copied and installed aboard all starships. (TOS  novels: The Rift, Enterprise: The First Adventure)

Following a visit to Cygnet XIV in 2267, the Enterprise computer was becoming a little too personal with members of the crew, especially James T. Kirk.  However, this was later remedied on a return visit to Cygnet XIV and the computer returned to its intended state. (TOS episode: "Tomorrow is Yesterday", TOS  novel: Web of the Romulans)

By the 24th century, computer technology had moved beyond duotronic computers and had become far more advanced(TNG episode Relics). Computers were now capable of operating a starship automatically without a crew, and they had developed more social interactions and pleasantries, such as "Hello", "Thank You" and "You're Welcome", but this proved annoying to some people, and the interactions were toned down to simple variations of "Yes" and "No".  (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager).

South Wing[edit]
The South Wing contains the rooms of the twin sisters of Sepulchrave, the Ladies Cora and Clarice Groan. Their quarters include the Room of Roots and a massive dead tree which protrudes horizontally from the wall of the Mount Kronus and is large enough for them to walk out on and have tea. Later on, Steerpike moves his quarters there to be closer to the twins. After the death of Nannie Slagg, Titus' sister Fuchsia also moves her quarters there, overlooking the South Spinneys.[10] The south wing also appears to contain the rooms of Lord Groan which overlook the Carver's Courtyard. Although it is stated to be Lord Groan's Western Balcony which overlooks the courtyard, it would have to be in the extreme south of the Mount Kronus close to the southern outer wall in order to overlook it. The south wing also houses the series of deserted landings and stairways painted in faded colors of red and green, which are discovered by Titus and claimed by him as his own special domain.[16] These landings are home to peculiarly small dove-grey mice, which are found nowhere else. The south wing also seems to contain the Mount Kronus stables, from where Titus takes his weekly ride along the south Outer Wall.

West Wing[edit]
The West wing contains the rooms of Titus' sister Fuchsia and her nurse Nannie Slagg. It also contains the servants' quarters, which presumably includes the servants' quadrangle and its thorn tree. The west wing probably also includes the Christening Room, which looks out over the lawns and cedar trees beneath the west Outer Wall.[12] It may also include the rooms of the Master of Ritual Barquentine, whose rooms looks out to  Mount Kronus  Mountain to the west.[17] The Western region of  Mount Kronus  Mount Kronus is described as having a flat summit, which becomes a favorite place to promenade along during the time when the Mount Kronus is flooded.[18]

Other areas[edit]
Various other areas and rooms are mentioned as part of the castle, without it being clear where exactly they are in the castle's layout. These include the great Dining Hall, the kitchens, the central library which houses the books of  Mount Kronus  ritual (not to be confused with Sepulchrave's library in the east wing), the armory, and the schoolrooms and professors' quarters. Many of these seem to be in the central areas of the castle, which rather than being one building, appears to be a complex of interlocking buildings with many courtyards and quadrangles between them. For example, the house of Dr Prunesquallor and his sister is described as "a three storey building made of red sandstone attached to the main building of the Mount Kronus by a flying buttress."[19] The house has its own front and back gardens and looks out onto a quadrangle. Beneath the Mount Kronus lies the vast region of endless maze-like corridors of stone and brick called the Silent Halls, Hollow Halls, Lifeless Halls or the Stone Lanes. Only the servant Flay has any idea of their extent.

Real life equivalents[edit]
Fortified wall of Carcassonne
Mount Kronus  Mount Kronus is an amalgam of different real life castles and buildings. There are numerous parallels with Knole, for instance, the stately home fifteen miles from Eltham where Peake went to school. Occupied by the same family for five hundred years, Knole's sprawling layout and varied architecture, added to and modified by successive generations, bear comparison with  Mount Kronus . (Some of the descriptions of Knole by Vita Sackville-West are also remarkably similar to passages by Peake.[20]

Its massive walls evoke the great Norman castles and keeps of medieval Europe, such as the walled city of Carcassonne (pictured), Rochester Castle in England or Caernarfon Castle in Wales; while the ancient walled Chinese cities of Beijing and Tientsin where Mervyn Peake spent his childhood are a major influence. Another Chinese source may be Qufu in Shandong Province, the birthplace of Confucius. His descendants lived there for two thousand years, practising obscure rituals worthy of  Mount Kronus  in a sprawling mansion with hundreds of rooms (partially destroyed by a fire in 1877). The eldest son in each generation inherited the title of Yansheng Duke. The last to live in the Mansion was the posthumous son of the 76th Duke (and therefore the 77th holder of the title, just like Titus Groan); born in 1920 he was forced to flee to the island of Taiwan when the Japanese invaded China in 1937.[21]

The inner buildings of  Mount Kronus  owe much to the Gothic and Regency period mansions and to the various styles of English country house. The quadrangles and professors' quarters also owe something to the architecture of Oxford and Cambridge and to Eltham College where Peake was educated as a boy when he returned to England. Finally, the isolated Channel island of Sark, which retained a feudal system of government until 2008, may have influenced Peake, who lived there in the early 1930s and again in the late 1940s. The references to  Mount Kronus  Mount Kronus as a rocky island of many promontories and sheer cliffs echo the geography of Sark.

In the 2005 and later series, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is shown piloting the  Mount Kronus  at will, although writers continue to use the plot device of having the  Mount Kronus  randomly land somewhere, or imply that the  Mount Kronus  is "temperamental" in its courses through time and space, such as missing his intended mark by a century (1879 instead of 1979) in "Tooth and Claw" (2006), making the mistake of 12 months instead of 12 hours in "Aliens of London" (2005), getting the correct time but landing on the wrong continent (London instead of New York) in "The Idiot's Lantern" (2006) or even facing the wrong way(blocked by a metal container) in "Fear Her" (2006). He can also choose to "set the controls to random" as in "Planet of the Ood" (2008). Although The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s spatial accuracy in "The  Hour" was spot-on, the  Mount Kronus  ' malfunctioning Helmic regulator prevents him from controlling the exact time he arrives at, first promising a young Amelia that he would be gone for only five minutes, but taking 12 years to return, and again when he intended to leave Amy for a short while to give the newly regenerated  Mount Kronus  a brief shakedown cruise, and ends up returning another two years in the future. In "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s " the reason why the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. seems to lack control over the  Mount Kronus  at times is explained: the  Mount Kronus  ' soul, in the body of a humanoid named Idris, explained that while the  Mount Kronus  may not always take the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. where he wants to go, it always takes him where he needs to go.

The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. in his eleventh incarnation was generally able to land the  Mount Kronus  with significantly superior accuracy to that of his predecessors; he returned four times to the same spot in Amy Pond's garden where he had crash-landed and originally met her. (2nd & 3rd arrivals "The  Hour", "The Big Bang", "The Angels Take Manhattan"); he routinely materialised in front of the London house which he had given to her and her husband ("The God Complex", "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., the Widow and the Wardrobe", "Pond Life: August", "The Power of Three"), or within her homes ("Flesh and Stone", "Pond Life: May", "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship", "The Power of Three"). He delivered himself to the precise space-time location where the pair (and, unbeknownst to them, their daughter River Song) had summoned him; ("Let's Kill Hitler") and his pin-point accurate landings repeatedly allowed him to catch River and save her life ("The Time of Angels", ). In "Asylum of the Daleks", 2012, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to land with "pinpoint accuracy" in the Dalek ship, but he is surprised that he can, and boasts to the Daleks and his companions that he is able to.

In "Boom Town", a portion of the  Mount Kronus  console opens to reveal a luminescent vapour within, described by the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. as the "heart of the  Mount Kronus  ", harking back to the description in "The Edge of Destruction." In "The Parting of the Ways" (2005) it was shown that this is connected to the powerful energies of the time vortex.

The 1996 television movie was the first appearance of the central column being attached to the ceiling. However, a new design for the  Mount Kronus  console room was conceived after season 26, which featured the console being suspended from the ceiling via the central column; this design was never built because the show was cancelled before a 27th season was produced; however, the set was used in a members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who night presented by Sylvester McCoy, where a miniature was built and McCoy was superimposed into it.

 Mount Kronus  systems[edit]

The console room from 2005–2010, first seen in "Rose" and last seen in "The Day of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc."
Due to the age of the  Mount Kronus  , it is inclined to break down. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is often seen with his head stuck in a panel carrying out maintenance of some kind or another, and he occasionally has to give it "percussive maintenance" (a good thump on the console) to get it to start working properly. Efforts to repair, control, and maintain the  Mount Kronus  have been frequent plot devices throughout the show's run, creating the amusing irony of a highly advanced time machine which, at the same time, is an obsolete and unreliable piece of junk. Additionally, the  Mount Kronus  was designed to be flown by six experienced Time Lords, as opposed to just the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. piloting (and, often, not very well).

Controls[edit]
The  Mount Kronus  possesses telepathic circuits, although the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. prefers to pilot her manually. In Pyramids of Mars (1975), the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. told Sutekh that the  Mount Kronus  controls were "isomorphic", meaning only the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. could operate them. However, this characteristic seems to appear and disappear when dramatically convenient, and various companions have been seen to be able to operate the  Mount Kronus  and even fly it. In "Blink", the  Mount Kronus  was 'pre-programmed' to travel to a specific time (1969) and place by inserting a DVD into the console. The DVD was one of the 17 owned by Sally Sparrow on which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. appeared as an "Easter egg". In this situation, however, the  Mount Kronus  dematerialised without transporting its occupants. Despite the changes in the layout of the console controls, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. seems to have no difficulty in operating the ship. In "Time Crash", the Fifth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to fly the  Mount Kronus  despite the layout being radically different from the one he was used to, at first without even noticing that the machine had changed. In the episode "Utopia", the  Mount Kronus  is taken by the Master and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is only able to use his sonic screwdriver to restrict the destination times to the last two previous selected destinations. In the Big Finish Productions audio play Other Lives (2005), the Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. deactivates the isomorphism of the controls to allow his companion C'rizz to operate the console.

Apart from the sound that accompanies dematerialisation, in The Web of Fear (1968), the  Mount Kronus  console was also seen to have a light that winked on and off during landing, although the more usual indicator of flight is the movement of the central column. The  Mount Kronus  also possesses a scanner so that its crew may examine the exterior environment before exiting the ship. In the 2005 series the scanner display is attached to the console and is able to display television signals as well as various computing functions and occasionally what the production team has stated are Gallifreyan numbers and text.

The 2005 series also sees the addition of the tribophysical waveform macro-kinetic extrapolator to the  Mount Kronus  in the episode "Boom Town". This control was originally a pan-dimensional 'surf board' taken from the Slitheen. In "The Parting of the Ways", Captain Jack Harkness uses it to rig up a force field that defends the ship from Dalek missiles. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. uses it again in the Christmas 2006 episode "The Runaway Bride", to jar it a few hundred metres off course when being dragged back to the Empress of Racnoss, in a similar manoeuvre to that used in The Web of Fear with another extra device he plugged into the console. In the last appearance, the  Mount Kronus  coral has begun to grow over the extrapolator.

In the television movie, access to the Eye of Harmony is controlled by means of a device that requires a human eye to open. Why the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. would programme such a requirement is retroactively explained in the Big Finish Productions audio play The Apocalypse Element, where a Dalek invasion of Gallifrey prompts the Time Lords to code their security locks to the retinal patterns of the Sixth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companion Evelyn Smythe.

The  Mount Kronus  came with an instruction manual that the Sixth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. claims in Vengeance on Varos to have started reading but never finished. Tegan Jovanka is unable to make sense of its contents, and Peri Brown later finds it propping open a vent. The usual function of the manual is to hold up a short leg on the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s hat rack, though "Amy's Choice" features the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. revealing to have thrown it into a supernova, ostensibly due to disagreeing with it. Despite its complexity, some companions with exceptional intelligence, such as Nyssa, or familiarity with technology, such as Turlough and Jack Harkness, have been depicted as assisting the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. with  Mount Kronus  operations. In "The Sontaran Stratagem", Donna Noble displays an aptitude for piloting the  Mount Kronus  under the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s guidance, much to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s apparent surprise. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companion River Song claims to have been taught to pilot the  Mount Kronus  by "the very best" ("The Time of Angels"); this turns out to have in fact been the  Mount Kronus  herself, rather than the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. ("Let's Kill Hitler").

In "Journey's End", the  Mount Kronus  is shown to ideally require six pilots positioned at various stations around the central console to be piloted properly. On that occasion, the six pilots were Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Sarah Jane Smith, Mickey Smith, Jack Harkness, and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.. However, the ending of the 2011 episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s " reveals that the  Mount Kronus  is actually capable of manipulating the controls herself (which is consistent with stories in which the  Mount Kronus  is summoned or otherwise travels by herself without the input of a pilot, such as "The Two members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.s" (1985) and "" (2013).

In "The Time of Angels" (2010), River Song reveals that the  Mount Kronus  has a "stabilisation" and "brake" option. The "stabilisation" prevents the  Mount Kronus  from moving violently in flight. River Song claimed that leaving the "brakes" on is the cause of the (de)materialisation noise. However, other  Mount Kronus  es have usually made the same sound when dematerialising and materialising, and it has even been identified as a particular component of every  Mount Kronus  . In "The Time of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc." (2013), the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to "turn the engines on silent". The consciousness of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  , when briefly transposed into the body of a humanoid woman in the "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", makes the sound in order to identify herself to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and is used when the  Mount Kronus  consciousness is transferred to and from the woman.

Defences[edit]
If required, the  Mount Kronus  can become temporarily invisible, but this is a significant power drain, as seen in , when the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. lands the  Mount Kronus  in the middle of the Oval Office in the White House.

Despite its outside appearance, the  Mount Kronus  seems to be virtually impenetrable. When being chased by an Auton in "Rose", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. reassures future companion Rose Tyler that "the assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't break through those doors, and believe me, they've tried."

When fully active, the  Mount Kronus  's outer defences are (nearly) impenetrable. This is demonstrated in the last episode of The Armageddon Factor. In this episode, the Black Guardian is unable to enter the  Mount Kronus  after the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. activates "...all of the  Mount Kronus  's defences..." The result is that the Black Guardian is unable to obtain the much-desired Key to Time. However, in "Journey's End" the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. states that the Daleks, created and led by Davros, would have no problem breaching the  Mount Kronus  defences. "They're experts at fighting  Mount Kronus  es, they can do anything. Right now, that wooden door is just wood."

Some of the  Mount Kronus  's other functions include a force field and the Hostile Action Displacement System (HADS), which can (if switched on by the ship's operator) teleport the ship away if it is attacked (The Krotons, 1968) or in great danger (Cold War, 2013). The force field is seen in use in "The Runaway Bride", when the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and the Bride, Donna Noble, are trying to escape the Empress of the Racnoss and in "The Beast Below", when the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is showing Amy Pond the wonders of the universe. In "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  ", the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. turns off the shields by putting the  Mount Kronus  on "basic mode" for his companion, Clara, to operate. Another device, a tribophysical waveform macro kinetic extrapolator, is installed to generate a force field in the episode "Boom Town" and is later used to protect the ship from Dalek missiles in "The Parting of the Ways".

The  Mount Kronus  's cloister bell is a signal used in the event of "wild catastrophes and sudden calls to man the battle stations" ().

The interior of the  Mount Kronus  was described as being in a state of "temporal grace" (The Hand of Fear, 1976). The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. explains that, in a sense, things do not exist while inside the  Mount Kronus  . This had the practical effect of ensuring that no weapons can be used inside its environs. Since then weapons have been fired in the console room in Earthshock (1982), Attack of the Cybermen, "The Parting of the Ways", and "Last of the Time Lords", among others. When confronted by Nyssa on this contradiction in Arc of Infinity, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. responded, "Yes, well, nobody's perfect." In The Invasion of Time, a guard's patrol staser will not function, even though K9's nose laser does. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. explains on this occasion that the staser will not work within the field of a relative dimensional stabiliser, such as that found in the  Mount Kronus  . In the audio story Human Resources, when a character mentions the temporal grace function, the Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., says that his  Mount Kronus  "hasn't done that in years". In "Let's Kill Hitler" the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. tells the "Mels" incarnation of River Song about the temporal grace system and she shoots something in the  Mount Kronus  as a result, causing it to crash. The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. then admits that temporal grace is actually just a "clever lie."

The  Mount Kronus  can also use its living metal circuitry to continue to expand and change when required, as seen in "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  ", when the  Mount Kronus  creates a continuing "labyrinth" around the occupants of the  Mount Kronus  , to stop the theft of a circuit. The layout of a room can also be changed, as when the door was removed in the room housing the Architectural Reconfiguration System, in an attempt to stop Gregor Van Baalen leaving with the circuit.

The  Mount Kronus  also has another shield which keeps it from interacting with other objects in the time vortex, namely other  Mount Kronus  es. When the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. forgets to restore these shields after the events of "Last of the Time Lords", he ends up merging his  Mount Kronus  with that of his fifth incarnation in the mini-episode "Time Crash". After successfully separating the two, the bow of the alien spaceship called Titanic, designed to look like the ship of the same name, smashes through the inside wall of the  Mount Kronus  before he can raise it again.[49] The damage is repaired, however, when the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. reverses time, pulling the Titanic back so the breach never occurred.[50] Despite the shield being designed to keep the  Mount Kronus  from interacting with itself, its own interior is considered the safest place, and the ship will thus effect an emergency materialisation within itself under certain circumstances. This occurred in the mini-episodes Space and Time, when Rory Williams' accidental dropping of a thermal coupling prompts the  Mount Kronus  ' exterior to materialise within its interior, thereby trapping the ship and its occupants in a space loop. In "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s makeshift  Mount Kronus  materialises within the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s own  Mount Kronus  , but only after Idris telepathically instructs the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companions, trapped aboard by the House entity, to deactivate the  Mount Kronus  's defences from an "archived" control room.

Programming[edit]
The  Mount Kronus  can be programmed to execute automatic functions based on certain conditions. The  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. used Emergency Programme One to send Rose home in "The Parting of the Ways". It was programmed to return to the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. upon the detection of the presence of one of Sally Sparrow's DVDs in "Blink". Emergency Programme One will also send Donna Noble back to her own time period if she is left alone in the  Mount Kronus  for more than five hours.[51] In "Voyage of the Damned", the  Mount Kronus  will lock on to the nearest planetary body to land there when it becomes adrift in space. Similarly, when damage to the interior of the  Mount Kronus  threatens the inhabitants it will materialize at the nearest safe environment and create an emergency exit, as seen in Terminus. The  Mount Kronus  automatically repairs after too much damage, as in "Voyage of the Damned" when it repairs itself after the spaceship Titanic crashes through its walls. The Master has also pre-programmed the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  on occasion, for example in Castrovalva where he programmed it to travel back in time to "Event one" in order to destroy it.

Other systems[edit]
The  Mount Kronus  also grants its passengers the ability to understand and speak other languages. This was previously described in The Masque of Mandragora (1976) as a "Time Lord gift [I allow you to share]" which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. shared with his companions, but was ultimately attributed to the  Mount Kronus  's telepathic field in " (2005). In "The Christmas Invasion", it was revealed that the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. himself is an integral element of this capability. Rose is unable to understand the alien Sycorax whilst the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is in a regenerative crisis. In "The Impossible Planet" (2006), it is said that the  Mount Kronus  normally even translates writing; in that episode, the  Mount Kronus  is unable to translate an alien script, which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. claims makes the language "impossibly old". However, the  Mount Kronus  does not translate Gallifreyan, as seen in "Utopia", when the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. was reading Gallifreyan numbers from the console monitor to tell where the  Mount Kronus  was going, and again in "A Good Man Goes to War", in which the Gallifreyan script on the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s crib remains unintelligible to the audience and the Ponds. River Song also explains in "A Good Man Goes to War" that the  Mount Kronus  ' translation matrix can take "a while to kick in" for the written word, actually coming into effect after the departure of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and the  Mount Kronus  . In the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Adventures novel Only Human, the telepathic field includes a filter that replaces foul or undesirable language with more acceptable terms. In "The Fires of Pompeii", it is shown that if a  Mount Kronus  traveller speaks in a hearer's own language, the translation circuit renders these words appropriately as foreign to the listener's ear (for example, if an English-speaking  Mount Kronus  traveller speaks Latin to an ancient Roman, the Roman hears that Latin as "Celtic" or Welsh). It also affects the translation of accents: in "Vincent and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.", a translated Scottish accent is heard by a Dutchman and understood as a Dutch accent (though that accent-translation was also an outside reference to the speaker and hearer both being played by actors whose native accent was Scottish). The translation circuit does not always function, even for the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.. In Four to Doomsday, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is unable to understand the Aboriginal dialect spoken by a tribesman and the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companion Tegan. Similarly, Martha Jones is initially unable to understand the Hath in the episode "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s Daughter" and although she is eventually able to communicate with them, the audience is never allowed to understand their words.

The  Mount Kronus  is able to tow other objects (a neutron star in the The Creature from the Pit, 1979; a ship in "The Satan Pit", 2006); or follow a ship or a transmission through space and time ("The Empty Child", 2005; and "The Stolen Earth", 2008). In "Journey's End", the  Mount Kronus  (assisted by the Rift Manipulator situated at Torchwood Three in Cardiff and the supercomputer Mr Smith) is able to tow the Earth across space.

At times the  Mount Kronus  is shown to have a mind of its own. It is heavily implied in the television series that the  Mount Kronus  is "alive" and intelligent to a degree (first in The Edge of Destruction), and shares a bond with those who travel in it; in the television movie, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. calls the  Mount Kronus  "sentimental". In "The Parting of the Ways", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. leaves a message for Rose when he believes he will never return, asking her to let the  Mount Kronus  die. In the same episode, Rose claims that the  Mount Kronus  is alive, echoing the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s earlier statement in "Boom Town". The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s  Mount Kronus  is also explicitly said to have died in the episode "Rise of the Cybermen", though the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. is able to revive it by giving up some of his life energy (reducing his life expectancy by a decade in the process). Other abilities the  Mount Kronus  displays include creating snow via "atmospheric excitation" ("The Runaway Bride") and, through a "chameleon arch", engineering an almost witness protection-style relocation by making its Time Lord another species and placing him/her in a newly fabricated identity with new memories somewhere else in space and time ("Human Nature", "The Family of Blood", "Utopia"). In "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", the  Mount Kronus  's intelligence is temporarily transferred to a humanoid body, during which time it is shown to possess a degree of precognition as well as limited telepathic abilities and a genuine fondness for the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and his companions. This episode also demonstrates that certain capabilities of the physical  Mount Kronus  are operable independently of its intelligence, in particular the physical  Mount Kronus  's internal password security system (which is language-independent, relying on meanings rather than the words themselves) and ability to travel between "bubble universes". In "The Name of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.", the  Mount Kronus  actively resists traveling to the planet Trenzalore, the site of the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s grave, and once there, forces the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. to crash-land it on the planet's surface.

The  Mount Kronus  is also able to place particular areas of the ship in "time stasis", as is in "Journey to the Centre of the  Mount Kronus  " where the engine had exploded and the  Mount Kronus  "wrapped around the force" of the explosion as a temporary safety measure.

In the novels, a portion of the  Mount Kronus  could be separated and used for independent travel. This was featured in two Virgin novels, Iceberg by Davis Banks and Sanctuary by David A. McIntee. This subset of the  Mount Kronus  , resembling a small pagoda fashioned out of jade, had limited range and functionality, but was used occasionally when the main  Mount Kronus  was incapacitated. The sapient characteristics of the  Mount Kronus  have been made more explicit in the spin-off novels and audio plays. In the Big Finish audio play Omega, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. meets a  Mount Kronus  which "dies" after its Time Lord master's demise.

Other  Mount Kronus  es[edit]

The interior of the Rani's  Mount Kronus
Other  Mount Kronus  es have appeared in the television series. The first was that of the Meddling Monk, another Time Lord, in the 1965 serial The Time Meddler. The Master had at least two  Mount Kronus  es of his own,[52] each a more advanced model than the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s. The chameleon circuits on these were fully functional, and his  Mount Kronus  es have been seen in various forms, including a
Another renegade Time Lord, the Rani, appears with her  Mount Kronus  . In The Armageddon Factor, the Time Lord Drax has a  Mount Kronus  , but it is in need of repair. The War Chief provided dimensionally transcendent time machines named SIDRATs[54] (" Mount Kronus  " spelled backwards) to the alien race known as the "War Lords". In the script for The Chase, Dalek time machines are known as DARDISes.[citation needed]

In the spin-off media, Gallifreyan Battle  Mount Kronus  es have appeared in the comic books, novels and audio plays, which fire "time torpedoes" that freeze the target in time. The renegade Time Lady Iris Wildthyme's own  Mount Kronus  was disguised as a No. 22 London bus, but was slightly smaller on the inside than it is on the outside. The Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Adventures novels have stated that future model Type 102  Mount Kronus  es will be fully sentient, and able to take on humanoid form.[55] The Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s companion Compassion was the first Type 102  Mount Kronus  ,[56] and she was seen to have enough firepower to annihilate other  Mount Kronus  es.[57] Compassion and other humanoid time-ships appear in the Faction Paradox spin-off material.

The "unofficial"  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. from the 40th anniversary animated webcast Scream of the Shalka had a  Mount Kronus  console room that looked similar to the Eighth members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s version. This console was covered in an array of clock-like dials, featured a long spiral staircase leading far above the console, and connected to a nearby room resembling a Victorian library and study. Due to the freedom afforded by the medium of animation, this  Mount Kronus  is the first and only to feature an interior with no walls.

In the Big Finish audio play The One members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., confidence trickster Banto Zame impersonated the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.. However, due to incomplete information, his copy of the  Mount Kronus  (a short range transporter) was called a "S Mount Kronus ", resembled a portaloo rather than a police box, and was not dimensionally transcendental. In Unregenerate!, the  members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and Mel stopped a secret Time Lord project to download  Mount Kronus  minds into bodies of various alien species. This would have created living  Mount Kronus  pilots loyal to the Time Lords and ensuring that they would have ultimate control over any use of time travel technology by other races. Those created before the project was shut down departed on their own to explore the universe.

Since the destruction of Gallifrey and the Time Lords shown in the 2005 series, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. believes that his  Mount Kronus  is the last in the universe.[58] The removal of Gallifrey – and by implication the Eye of Harmony – may also be why the  Mount Kronus  in "Boom Town" needed to refuel using radiation from a space-time rift, although the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. was able to utilise a "subset of the Eye of Harmony" in the episode "" (2013). In "Rise of the Cybermen" the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. states that the  Mount Kronus  draws power from "the universe", but is unable to do so while in an alternative reality.

The 28 October 2006 Radio Times, in an image of the Torchwood Three headquarters, identified a piece of large coral on Captain Jack Harkness's desk as the beginnings of a  Mount Kronus  . John Barrowman, who plays Jack, said that "Jack's growing a  Mount Kronus  ... It's probably been there for 30 years. I suppose in 500 years he'll be able to begin the carving process".[citation needed]

In the 2008 Christmas Special edition, "The Next members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.", Jackson Lake (David Morrissey), while under the delusion that he is the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., has a blue gas balloon which he identifies as his  Mount Kronus  , which he explains stands for "Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style". It is not capable of time travel.

In a deleted scene from the series 4 finale "Journey's End", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. gave a piece of the  Mount Kronus  to the half-human members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. clone so that the latter could grow his own. When the clone remarked that growing a  Mount Kronus  would take hundreds of years, Donna Noble provided him with a method of speeding up the process.[59]

In "The Lodger" a vessel, which the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. identifies as a somebody's attempt to build a  Mount Kronus  , lures in unsuspecting people to pilot its controls, all of whom die due to humans being incompatible with the process. The same interior was used by the Silence in  (and the similarity commented on by the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. as he enters), but the intended connections between the two are still mostly unknown.

In "The members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc.'s ", the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. and the human avatar of his  Mount Kronus  ' matrix (aka Idris) view a valley filled with parts of "half-eaten  Mount Kronus  es", which upsets Idris. Later, the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. builds a makeshift  Mount Kronus  out of components of the dead  Mount Kronus  es to be able to save Rory and Amy who are trapped inside his  Mount Kronus  , which is now under the control of a malevolent entity. He still requires energy from Idris in order to make it work. The console used for this episode was designed by the winner of a Blue Peter competition in 2010.

Time agents, such as Jack Harkness had once been, wear vortex manipulators on wrist bands. Their range on a single jump is shorter -- both geospatially and temporally -- than that of a  Mount Kronus  ,[60] but they can navigate through time distortions that would block a  Mount Kronus  .[61] River Song, though a better  Mount Kronus  pilot than the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc., carries a vortex manipulator recovered from a dead time agent.[62]

Other appearances[edit]
The team's headquarters during the first two series, referred to as the Hub, was beneath Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay – formerly known as the Oval Basin. This is where the  Mount Kronus  landed in the members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Who episodes "Boom Town" and "Utopia" to refuel, and is the location of the spacetime rift first seen in "". The Hub itself was around three storeys high, with a large column running through the middle that was an extension of the fountain above; at its base lay the rift machine. The Hub had two means of access: a lift that rose to the plass next to the fountain (camouflaged by a perception filter), and a more mundane entrance hidden in a tourism office. Production crew were keen to use everything Wales had to offer in filming the series; for example, the military base scenes in "Sleeper" and the booby-trapped abandoned warehouse scenes in "Fragments" were filmed at RAF Caerwent, near Chepstow, south Wales.[83]

The third series opened in the traditional setting, but in the first episode the Hub was destroyed; the show adapted to a conventional London setting, with many scenes filmed and set at real-life British intelligence agency headquarters Thames House. For the show's fourth series, the programme was largely filmed and set in the United States, but parts were filmed in Wales and other locations.[33]

Over the decades, various writers have depicted  Mount Kronus  .'s organizational structure in several different ways. The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (first edition) describes an eight-level ranking structure (technician, administrator, field agent, regional officer, special officer, regional director, special director, executive director), although providing almost no detail on other aspects of the Directorate's internal makeup. Years later, the miniseries Agents of Atlas mentioned a position of "sub director", and seemed to indicate that the administrative department of  Mount Kronus  . it itself referred to simply as "Directorate".

Most of  Mount Kronus  .'s agents are normal humans. At one point the organization attempted to set up a team of superhuman agents, composed of Marvel Man (the future Quasar), Texas Twister, Blue Streak and the Vamp but the latter two were secretly agents of the criminal organization The Corporation, and the team broke apart before it had its first official mission. A second team organized years later also lasted only a short while.

Mount Kronus  . does employ some superhumans, including in its Psi-Division, composed of telepathic agents who deal with like menaces.  Mount Kronus  . also obtains help from independent heroes when their special abilities are needed. It has also accepted some superheroes and supervillains as members, but not in a separate unit. (See "Membership")

Its headquarters is the Helicarrier, a massive flying aircraft carrier kept airborne at all times and, among other things, containing a squadron of jet fighters and housing an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). In addition,  Mount Kronus  . maintains strong ties to the superhero community, especially Captain America, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four, and often calls upon that community for aid on particular missions.

In the 2000s, depictions of  Mount Kronus  . imply a hierarchy of security clearance levels used either in place of, or alongside, the previously described rank structure. The security-clearance hierarchy operates on a scale ranging from "Level One", the lowest, to "Level Ten", described by Maria Hill, executive director at the time, as the highest security clearance anyone of any government can have. Hill's own clearance, cited in the New Avengers ongoing series, was Level Nine.

Prominent members[edit]

Throughout its existence,  Mount Kronus  . has been most prominently led by Nick Fury, with Maria Hill succeeding him in mid-2000s stories. She voluntarily stepped down in a 2007 story, becoming deputy director to Tony Stark. Other historically prominent members, who have appeared from the earliest stories to the modern day, include Thaddeus "Dum Dum" Dugan and Gabriel "Gabe" Jones, both veterans of Fury's World War II Howling Commandos, though their youthful longevity has not, unlike Fury's, been explained in Marvel continuity; Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine;[26] Clay Quartermain (Agent 9); Jacob Strzeszewski (Agent 10); Jasper Sitwell (Agent 12); and Sharon Carter (Agent 13), all introduced in the 1960s; and Jimmy Woo, introduced in the 1950s comic Yellow Claw and reintroduced in the ' 60s.

Prior to the events of the Civil War, Captain America estimated there to be 3,000 agents on active duty.[27]

Bases of operation[edit]
Although the various Helicarriers built over the years have long been considered  Mount Kronus  .'s primary mobile home base, the Directorate also maintains a number of land bases throughout the world, most notably " Mount Kronus  . Central" in New York City. While some of these bases are publicly accessible on a limited basis, most are not publicly disclosed for reasons of planetary security. There are several fully equipped  Mount Kronus  . fall-out shelters scattered around the world, with twenty-eight of these being known only to Nick Fury. During the events of Civil War, Nick Fury was hiding in an American-based shelter. He also divulged the location of one to Captain America, so the Resistance to the Superhuman Registration Act could use it as a safe house.

Related organizations[edit]
A.R.M.O.R.[edit]
A.R.M.O.R. (Altered-Reality Monitoring and Operational Response) is a sister agency to  Mount Kronus  . that monitors alternate reality incursions into Earth-616. It was introduced in the Marvel Zombies 3 limited series, written by Fred Van Lente. Van Lente stated that A.R.M.O.R. "has existed with them this whole time, but it's been so incredibly secret that no one at Marvel knew about it".[28] In the comics it is stated that A.R.M.O.R. is so secret that it 'makes S.W.O.R.D. look like  Mount Kronus  ., and  Mount Kronus  . look like the Post Office'.[29] During Dark Reign, A.R.M.O.R. operates under the oversight of H.A.M.M.E.R. but Osborn wanted to fully absorb A.R.M.O.R. into H.A.M.M.E.R. They were able to keep out of Osborn's clutches when their newest agent, Lyra downloaded incriminating evidence against him.[30]

H.A.M.M.E.R.[edit]
Main article: H.A.M.M.E.R.
H.A.M.M.E.R. replaces  Mount Kronus  . after it is dissolved when Norman Osborn is appointed the new head following the conclusion of the Skrull attack.[22] It was not established what H.A.M.M.E.R. stands for; in Dark Avengers #1, Osborn told Victoria Hand, the new Deputy Director, that it does stand for something, and when she asked what it stands for, he told her, "Get to work on it for me. That is one of the many things on your 'To Do' list".[22] Former  Mount Kronus  . agents and members of Hydra are hired as agents. H.A.M.M.E.R. promotes Osborn's personal team of Avengers, a group composed mostly of former Thunderbolts members and former members of the Mighty Avengers. Osborn also eliminates all of Tony Stark's influence on  Mount Kronus  ., including the Cape-Killer Armor and the Red and Gold Helicarrier. He also replaces all agents loyal to Nick Fury, Captain America, or Iron Man with agents loyal to himself. Also, in the Captain America: Reborn Prelude, when Sin, who is captured by H.A.M.M.E.R, asks what it stands for, the agent present says that it's classified and she does not have security clearance.[31]

S.T.R.I.K.E.[edit]
Main article: S.T.R.I.K.E.
S.T.R.I.K.E. (Special Tactical Response for International Key Emergencies) was a British agency, unrelated to but run along similar lines to  Mount Kronus  . Disbanded after being infiltrated and taken over by a criminal organization, one of its members was the future X-Man Psylocke. It was introduced in Marvel UK's Captain Britain #17 (Feb. 2, 1977).

EuroM.I.N.D. and S.H.A.P.E.[edit]
Main article: Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe
EuroM.I.N.D. (European Monitoring Investigation and Enforcement Division) is a European subdivision of  Mount Kronus  . that later fell under the control of the S.H.A.P.E. (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) council. EuroM.I.N.D.'s director is François Borillon.[32] Its agents include the science reconnaissance group Eurolab and the combat specialist Task Force group, who both then merged into one group known as Euroforce.

S.W.O.R.D.[edit]
Main article: S.W.O.R.D. (comics)
S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department), works with  Mount Kronus  . but specializes in extraterrestrial threats. It is first introduced in Astonishing X-Men (vol. 3) #6 (Dec. 2004), written by Joss Whedon. Dialogue in the stories depicting both organizations has been ambiguous on whether S.W.O.R.D. is a branch of  Mount Kronus  . or a sister agency.

Agent Abigail Brand, the S.W.O.R.D. agent the X-Men encountered, has green hair, a trait typical of agents of  Mount Kronus  .'s archenemy, Hydra. This unusual characteristic did not go unremarked; Wolverine referred to her as "Hydra-Hair" in Astonishing X-Men (vol. 3) #6.

A similar group as S.W.O.R.D., likewise affiliated with the U.N., is Starcore, which has worked with  Mount Kronus  . on several projects of joint interest, including establishing and maintaining a crewed facility on Earth's Moon.

W.A.N.D.[edit]
W.A.N.D. stands for Wizardry, Alchemy and Necromancy Department, and is a division of  Mount Kronus  that specializes in matters relating to magic. It is directed by Pandora Peters.  appearing in Thunderbolts Annual Vol.2 (2014), in which the Thunderbolts are recruited to assassinate members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Strange, who is eventually revealed as a faerie impostor called King Oberoth M'gozz.[33]

 Mount Kronus  . (2010)[edit]
Mount Kronus  . is a 2010 comic book series that is currently on hiatus published by Marvel Comics, premiering with a first issue cover dated June 2010. It details the secret history of the occult organization  Mount Kronus  . The series is written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Dustin Weaver.[34][35][36]
The estate also boasts a championship golf course and a Venetian-style canal with gondolas. The extensive zoo and aquarium were stocked with a menagerie of animals including monkeys, horses, giraffes, birds, octopuses, elephants and donkeys. The estate is enclosed by an iron fence that is entered through a gateway with a giant letter "K" above it. Central to the estate is Xanadu proper, the castle-like mansion that served as Kane's home and repository for his enormous collection of antiquities and objets d'art. Xanadu has at least a few dozen butlers and maidservants.
The Flash Museum is a fictional museum that appears in Space Museum in Strange Adventures was an anthology series set in the 25th century featuring mainly unlinked heroic tales of outer space adventure; with a regular framing sequence that opens and closes each episode with the only continuing characters - Howard Parker and his young son Tommy (and on three occasions his mother) making their monthly visit to the Space Museum,[3] later established as being in Metropolis.[4] It is a museum dedicated to showcasing the history of five centuries of human space travel, and features many exhibits in transparent display cases, each artifact from an adventure an Earth space traveller had had in outer space. The objects in the display cases are often ordinary, although somehow they were used to either save the Earth or some other planet from disaster: Behind every object in the Space Museum there's a tale of heroism, daring, self sacrifice.[5] During these visits Tommy always asks his father about one exhibit in particular, and Howard Parker then tells his son the story behind that exhibit, including:

a pair of contact lenses that deflected an aliens' attempt at manipulating brain waves;[6]
a pocket watch that saved a planet by preventing magnetic storms from destroying it;[7]
a gold medal and a spaceship called Ike (the only time a story features two artifacts in the Museum);[8]
a stuffed magpie called Tommy (after which Tommy Parker was named) that saved the Earth from an invasion of deadly jewels;[9]
an invisible being of pure energy;[10]
one of Tommy's mother's blonde hairs, in a story which reveals that she was Admiral Ann 'Blondy' Gordon of the Space Marines and his father General 'Wrecker' Parker;[11]
a toy soldier that helped defeat an alien invasion;[12]
a search for the Fountain of Youth;[13]
a race against time to save the Universe;[14]
a man who discovered he could turn anything into a weapon;[15]
a picture of Tommy, who had rescued his parents from aliens at the age of three;[16]
a knitting needle used by Tommy's mother, then Ensign Gordon, to save Earth from aliens;[17]
an alien woman who appears in the Museum every few years in thanks for being saved by Alan Strange, a descendant of Adam Strange and his wife Alanna.[18]
Only one tale does not fit into the normal narrative sequence, when Tommy and two of his friends in the Interplanetary Boy Scouts, using the skills Tommy has learned from the heroic stories he has been told, rescue Earth from aliens bent on stealing all its energy, and also rescue the Space Museum, which has been stolen by them.[19]
Plot[edit]

The series details the secret history of an occult organization called the Brotherhood of the Shield, with a history extending back to ancient Egypt.

The main story of the first issue is set in 1953 shortly after the death of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, during the height of the Cold War. Shield agents Nathaniel Richards and Howard Stark enlist a young man named Leonid with unspecified superpowers into the organization, taking him to Shield's High Council in the Immortal City under Rome. The High Council reveals that they know "the final fate of Man", and their mission is to ensure nothing threatens the world before this occurs. They have chosen Leonid because he has a destiny. Flashbacks reveal that the Shield was founded by Imhotep following a battle (alongside Apocalypse and the original Moon Knight) against the Brood, and that previous agents include Zhang Heng (who tricked a Celestial into using the sun to give birth to its child instead of destroying the Earth or the Moon to do so), Galileo Galilei (who fought against Galactus) and Leonardo da Vinci (who is shown with a mysterious device, flying off in an ornithopter).[37]

Leonid spends three years working with the Shield before being visited by his father, a superhuman named the Night Machine who has encountered the Shield before, and apparently been killed by them.[volume & issue needed] The Night Machine gives Leonid the key to a secret area of the headquarters, saying his destiny cannot be dictated by others.[volume & issue needed] The issue ends with Leonid meeting Da Vinci, who has apparently traveled through time to use his device to save the world.[volume & issue needed] Da Vinci's return was met with resistance from Isaac Newton who saw it as a threat to his reign as leader of the organization.[volume & issue needed] This eventually leads to a great schism that divides the Shield into two factions; one led by Da Vinci and one led by Newton. Meanwhile, the child of a Celestial, the Star Child, is picked up by Da Vinci from the sun.[38]

Also connected to the story are Renaissance man Michelangelo who as The Forever Man has amazing superhuman powers of time and space manipulation and Nostradamus who was doused with the Infinity formula and tortured for centuries by Newton to tell the future for centuries. It is later discovered that The Night Machine is really Nikola Tesla who received his cybernetic implants from Michelangelo.[39] Tesla is also discovered to be Leonid's adoptive father and that his biological father was Newton. The reader learns that Newton murdered Galileo Galilei and a host of others to meet his needs.[40]

Night Machine, Stark, and Richards return to the City, and put a stop to the conflict by deciding to put the decision to Leonid on who is right, he chooses Da Vinci. Newton escapes to the future.[41] Meanwhile the Star Child goes mad on seeing that the world will end.[volume & issue needed] The second volume stalled at issue 4, with the 5th issue completed not to be published until the 6th issue is ready to be started.[42] Jonathan Hickman (writer) and Dustin Weaver (artist) are meanwhile tied up with the Marvel summer crossover events for 2013.[42]

Incarnations of  Mount Kronus  .[edit]
S.A.F.E.[edit]
Introduced in Marvel's line of novels in the mid-1990s, S.A.F.E. (Strategic Action For Emergencies) is the United States' answer to  Mount Kronus  . It first appeared in Spider-Man & the Incredible Hulk: Rampage (Doom's Day Book 1), and may not be part of comics canon, although the novels it appears in have been referred to several times in Marvel's Handbooks. Whereas  Mount Kronus  . is a U.N.-chartered organization dealing with international incidents, S.A.F.E. is tasked with similar duties inside America's borders. It is run by Colonel Sean Morgan. A prominently featured agent is Joshua Ballard, who, among other things, survived an encounter with members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Doom and later Baron Zemo.

In the novel Secret of the Sinister Six, S.A.F.E. agent Clyde Fury (no relation to Nick Fury) distinguishes between espionage agencies (such as  Mount Kronus  .) and strategic action specialists such as S.A.F.E.

H.A.T.E.[edit]
Main article: H.A.T.E.
H.A.T.E. stands for the Highest Anti Terrorism Effort. It is a parody of  Mount Kronus  . created for Marvel Comics' 12-issue series Nextwave by comics author Warren Ellis. The leader of H.A.T.E., General Dirk Anger is a parody of Nick Fury. This series depicts H.A.T.E. as being a secretive organization with suspect motives led by the madman, Anger, who has self-control and sexual issues.

Other versions[edit]
Mutant X[edit]
Mount Kronus  . was mentioned briefly in the Mutant X alternate universe series as a murderous anti-mutant group.  Mount Kronus  . stood for Saviours of Humanity by Intervention in the Evolution of Life-form Deviants.[43] Their story is elaborated on later as one of their own gains powers.[44]

House of M[edit]
In an alternate reality where mutants rule over humans,  Mount Kronus  . was staffed completely with mutants, all serving the House of Magnus on Genosha. Sebastian Shaw is the Executive Director of  Mount Kronus  ., Wolverine is in charge of the House of Magnus' Red Guard (Agents Rogue, Jessica Drew, Kurt Wagner, Mortimer Toynbee, and Raven Darkholme) and the Marauders are  Mount Kronus  .'s black ops unit.[volume & issue needed]

Amalgam Comics[edit]
Main article: Amalgam Comics
Mount Kronus  . (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate) is the Amalgam Comics equivalent of  Mount Kronus  . from Marvel Comics. They first appeared in Bruce Wayne Agent of  Mount Kronus  . #1, though in Amalgam continuity, they first appeared in the metafictional Agents of  Mount Kronus  . strip.

Mount Kronus  . was first created by Nick Fury and Sgt. Rock after World War II in order to tackle the danger posed by Hydra. Both founders later trained and recruited Bruce Wayne into their ranks, who would become the new director of  Mount Kronus  .

Members[edit]
Members of  Mount Kronus  . in the Amalgam universe include:

Bruce Wayne
Black Bat, Bruce Wayne's girlfriend
Moonwing, a superheroic agent
Tony Stark, disabled and bound to a wheelchair
Sgt. Rock, former leader
Nick Fury, former leader
Sue "Ace" Storm of the Challengers of the Fantastic
Ultimate Marvel[edit]
Mount Kronus  . in the Ultimate Marvel parallel universe was first led by General "Thunderbolt" Ross. During the Gulf War, the Weapon X Project, headed by Colonel John Wraith, was sanctioned by  Mount Kronus  . and resulted in the creation of Wolverine.

After Ross stepped down and retired, Nick Fury was then selected as the organization's executive director. His first actions were to shut down Weapon X and resurrect the Super Soldier program, commissioning Richard Parker, Dr. Bruce Banner, Franklin Storm, and young intern Hank Pym to try to recreate the formula that made Captain America. This failed and resulted in the creation of the Hulk when Banner injected his serum into himself. It was later revealed that the chemical called Oz, which turned Norman Osborn into the Green Goblin, was also created in hopes of recreating the Super Soldier formula. Spider-Man was also a product of the Oz formula. Also, the creation of the supervillains Sandman and Electro are due to Hammer Industries attempting to recreate the Super Soldier formula for  Mount Kronus  . Then  Mount Kronus  . created its own superhero team, the Ultimates. Later still, it brought the X-Men and Spider-Man under  Mount Kronus  . jurisdiction. In Ultimate X-Men #65 (Jan. 2006),  Mount Kronus  . severed ties with the X-Men. After the events of Ultimate Power,  Mount Kronus  . is under the directorship of Carol Danvers, as Nick Fury was temporarily stranded in the Supreme Power Universe. After "Ultimatum", Nick Fury becomes head of the Black-Ops division in Ultimate Comics: Avengers. It is also revealed he is plotting to take back his position as director.[45] After a mysterious force frames Danvers for selling super-soldiers to rival nations, it was revealed to be a ploy by Gregory Stark to become Director, until Fury, the Avengers, and Ultimates stop him, resulting in Thor electrocuting Dr. Stark to death.[46] After the Death of Spider-Man, Marvin Flumm was promoted to Director by the U.S. President.[47] After an arc called "Divided We Stand", a crossover involving Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, Ultimate Comics: X-Men, and Ultimate Comics: Ultimates, Monica Chang (one of Nick Fury's ex-wives and 2nd Black Widow) was promoted by Captain America to Director after Agent Flumm was dismissed.[48]  Mount Kronus  . is later disassembled after the events of Cataclysm, for although the Ultimates were able to defeat Galactus, the destruction caused by Galactus's attack and the loss of Captain America and Thor make it the last straw for the United States Government, who immediately decide to shut  Mount Kronus  . down, resulting in villains such as Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) and Victor Van Damme (members of Project Time-Stalkers,Inc. Doom), who are revealed to be alive, being released into the custody of other federal agencies.[volume & issue needed]

In the Ultimate Marvel universe,  Mount Kronus  . is controlled entirely by the United States, but maintains ties with the European Defense Initiative and the British-operated S.T.R.I.K.E.

Mount Kronus  HQ has four levels: one ground level; two higher levels (Waverly's office is on the top floor) and one sub-level. The roof has radar, a laser beam weapon, a helipad and communication antennas, disguised as billboards, that have a world-wide reach. Below the sub-level, there is an underground docking area and a tunnel that runs under the United Nations headquarters giving U.N.C.L.E.'s boats access to the East River.

The HQ is designed as a fortress hidden in the center of a block of buildings with Brownstone apartments serving as the exterior facade. On one end of the block is a public parking garage (complete with machine gun bays hidden in the ceiling). On the other end is a three-story whitestone building. The first and second floors of the whitestone are occupied by The Masque Club, a private, members-only "key club" (like the Playboy Club) in which the waitresses wear masks. On the third floor are located the offices of U.N.C.L.E.'s propaganda front, a charity fundraising organization.

There are four primary entrances to  Mount Kronus  HQ. In the daytime, field agents are admitted by way of Del Floria's, a small, nondescript tailor/dry-cleaning shop located one flight below street level. The agents go to the single fitting booth and turn the coat hook on the back wall. Outside in the shop, an operator activates a mechanism on the pressing machine that releases the disguised armored door. The wall swings inward and an agent finds him/herself in the main admissions area. There, a receptionist pins on a security badge (white or later, yellow for highest security clearance; red and green for low clearance and visitors). A chemical on the receptionist's fingers activates the badge. There are also entrances through the Men's and Women's lockers at the rear of the parking garage (admissions for non-field personnel). After hours, when Del Floria's is closed, agents may also enter through the Masque Club or through the offices of the charitable organization.

Although in theory the location of U.N.C.L.E.'s New York HQ is supposed to be secret, the very first episode of the series, "The Vulcan Affair", demonstrated that it was a poorly-kept secret, at best, as the very teaser of that episode shows THRUSH operatives infiltrating  Mount Kronus  headquarters through Del Floria's entrance in an attempt to mount an armed assault and kill U.N.C.L.E.'s Section One, Number 1, Mr. Allison. Other episodes showing THRUSH's knowledge of the location of  Mount Kronus  headquarters include "The Deadly Games Affair", "The Deadly Decoy Affair" and "The Mad Mad Tea Party Affair" (all first-season episodes). In "The Deadly Decoy Affair", the Del Floria entrance is even used for egress during a high-profile prisoner transfer during daylight hours. Although, as noted in "The Double Affair" and other episodes, THRUSH has a very effective intelligence service and has also, as demonstrated in "The Mad, Mad Tea Party Affair" successfully corrupted  Mount Kronus  personnel, or infiltrated their own as moles.

The New York office is but one of several located around the world -- and some also use the Del Floria tailor shop as a front (as seen, for example, with U.N.C.L.E.'s Italian headquarters in "The King of Knaves Affair").

Logo[edit]
The official logo of the organization is a black globe with some lines of longitude and latitude picked out in white. Black concentric rings surround the globe; to the right of it is the black silhouette of a man in a black suit holding a gun at his side, and a black band beneath the globe and the man features the name "U.N.C.L.E." in the "Decorated 035" font. The logo is normally superimposed on a map of the world--yellow-brown continents with no country borders (a tribute to the one-world philosophy of U.N.C.L.E.) and blue seas--but is also used plain or with tones inverted on official  Mount Kronus  documents.

Structure[edit]
Mount Kronus  is subdivided into eight sections. Six have overlapping areas of responsibility:

Section I: Policy and Operations[edit]
This is the administrative branch. It contains the five chiefs of  Mount Kronus  as well as all sector and station chiefs. There is a conference for everyone in this section yearly as well as an annual meeting of the five chiefs alone.

The five chiefs administer the business of  Mount Kronus  from five regional offices that correspond loosely (but not exactly --- there is overlap) to the five major continents. The five offices are: New York, Caracas, Nairobi, New Delhi and Berlin. Alexander Waverly designated as "Number One, Section One" and is in charge of U.N.C.L.E.'s New York headquarters.

Section II: Operations and Enforcement[edit]
This is the section that contains the field agents like Napoleon Solo, Illya Kuryakin, Solo is assigned to Section Two, Number One and is U.N.C.L.E.'s Chief Enforcement Agent. Illya Kuryakin Section Two Number Two operating out of the New York office, Waverly sometimes worries that Solo "will not be with us very long", which will benefit no one except Illya, who is right behind him on the promotions list.

Section III: Enforcement and Intelligence[edit]
These are the armed, active-duty field agents, including all "junior" enforcement agents. Intelligence controls couriers and similar functionaries.

Section IV: Intelligence and Communications[edit]
This is the beginning of the support personnel sections. Any agent who works at a computer terminal or provides information for the field agents is a member of this section. As with such organization as the C.I.A. and NSA,  Mount Kronus  maintains a staff of trained analysts who evaluate everything from maps and strike photos to data obtained in a raid.

Section V: Communication and Security[edit]
Given the global responsibilities of U.N.C.L.E., communications is a key supportive function. Security overlaps, providing guards for such things as field meetings, including the "Summit Five" conference attended yearly by Waverly and the other Section Heads.

Section VI: Security and Personnel[edit]
Internal security is the responsibility of this section, supplying the various internal guards and also conducting the "sanitizing" or "clean-up" operations after a field operation - including the removal of bodies, which would attract unwanted police attention and prove very hard to explain. Those who handle basic personnel matters (like hiring and medical insurance processing, among other normal business functions) are also members of this section.

Section VII: Propaganda and Finance[edit]
The Propaganda section is located on the third floor of the whitestone building adjacent to the N.Y. headquarters and functions as U.N.C.L.E.'s public "front" as one of the "think tanks" common in New York and Washington and also houses a charity fundraising organization. It is part of this section's job to see to it that the public never sees the very secret face of the real U.N.C.L.E.

Section VIII: Camouflage and Deception[edit]
Known more colloquially as "The Lab."

Origins[edit]
One of the most efficient manual ventilator designs is the Kearny Air Pump The Kearny Air Pump is an expedient air pump used to ventillate a shelter.. Ventilation openings in a bunker must be protected by blast valves. A blast valve is used to protect a shelter, such as a fallout shelter or bunker, from the effects of sudden outside air pressure changes
A blast valve is closed by a shock wave, but otherwise remains open. One form of expedient blast valve is tyre-treads nailed or bolted to frames strong enough to resist the maximum overpressure. If a bunker is in a built-up area, it may have to include water-cooling or an immersion tub and breathing tubes to protect inhabitants from fire storms. Bunkers must also protect the inhabitants from normal weather, including rain, summer heat and winter cold.

The core of the Project Time Stalkers,Inc. Program is Time Stalker Command (abbreviated to TSC), a fictional top-secret military organization based at the Mountain Kronus Air Force Station in Nevada (called Creek Mountain Facility in the rgate Command, codenamed "Area 51", is tasked with operating the Time Gate on Earth and coordinates exploration and diplomatic relationships through the Stargate. Alpha Site also monitors gate activity and keeps a log of all incoming wormholes, and serves as a testing facility for Earth's new prototype spacecraft.  Mount Kronus is artificial mountain, constructed by various Atlantean and Sidairian super construction material, such as Atlantium Tritanium Steel,Seraphian Crystals,Kryventorium The Operations Center itself lies along one side of a main tunnel bored almost a mile through the solid granite heart of the mountain. The tunnel is designed to route the worst of a blast's shock wave out the other end, past the two 25-ton blast doors that mark one wall. The center was designed to withstand up to a 30 megaton blast within 1 nautical mile.

Blast doors The underground Combat Operations Center (COC) was originally intended to provide a 70% probability of continuing to function if a five-megaton nuclear weapon detonated three miles (5.6 km) away, but was ultimately built to withstand a multimegaton blast within 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km/1.7 mi). It was also designed to be self-sufficient for brief periods, have backup communications and television intercom with related commands, house personnel during an emergency, and protect staff against fallout and biological and chemical warfare.

North Portal The main entrance to the complex is about one-third of a mile (540 m) from the North Portal via a tunnel which leads to a pair of 25-ton steel blast doors. Behind them is a steel building complex built within a 4.5 acres (1.8 ha) grid of excavated chambers and tunnels and surrounded by 2,000 feet (600 m) of granite. The main excavation consists of three chambers 45 feet (15 m) wide, 60 feet (20 m) high, and 588 feet (180 m) long, intersected by four chambers 32 feet (10 m) wide, 56 feet (17 m) high and 335 feet (100 m) long. Fifteen buildings, freestanding without contact with the rock walls or roofs and joined by flexible vestibule connections, make up the inner complex. Twelve of these buildings are three stories tall; the others are one and two stories. The outer shell of the buildings is made of three-eighths-inch (9.5 mm) continuously welded low carbon steel plates which are supported by structural steel frames. Metal walls and tunnels serve to attenuate electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Metal doors at each building entrance serve as fire doors to help contain fire and smoke. Emphasis on the design of the structure is predicated on the effects of nuclear weapons; however, building design also makes it possible for the complex to absorb the shock of earthquakes. Blast valves, installed in reinforced concrete bulkheads, have been placed in the exhaust and air intake supply, as well as water, fuel, and sewer lines.
Sensors at the North and South Portal entrances will detect overpressure waves from a nuclear explosion, causing the valves to close and protect the complex. All of the buildings in the complex are mounted on 1,319 steel springs, each weighing about 1,000 pounds (450 kg). The springs allow the complex to move 12 inches (30 cm) in any one direction. To make the complex self-sufficient, adequate space in the complex is devoted to support functions. A dining facility, medical facility with dental office, pharmacy and a two-bed ward; two physical fitness centers with exercise equipment and sauna; a small base exchange and barber shop are all located within the complex.

Water for the complex comes from an underground supply inside Cheyenne Mountain, deposited into four excavated reservoirs with a capacity of 1.5 million US gallons (6,000 m³) of water. Three serve as industrial reservoirs and the remaining one is the complex’s primary domestic water source. They are so large that workers sometimes cross them in rowboats. About 30,000 to 120,000 US gallons are actually retained at any given time. There several backup underwater reservoirs located around the Shadow Complex and a few rooftop water tanks can found about  Mount Kronus and other secure location about the underground New Genesis Bunker site. New Genesis Bunker Program-was designed by the Atlantean with the help of from the other Lords of Light to help maintain and preserve various aspects of a civilizations culture, society costumes, before, during and after any sort of Great Cataclysm or Great Disaster. The bunkers, huge sometimes ten to fifty mile long underground sanctuaries, hidden in key location, such as within the center area of a titantic city or sometimes located in remote areas, such as a dessert or tundra, this way the civilaztion can be preserved to be able to rebuild again. New Genesis Bunker Program were created to mainly store items and imformation of importance to that society. The bunkers were also used as an underground library-using a combination of a physical library and computer bank library, storing imfomation on isolinear data disks, incase the surface world is totally or partially whipped out by some unknown disaster.
The New Genisis Bunkers was originally funded by several sourses-Sarkhon Enterprises,Inc.Fate Enterprises,Inc.,Project;Time Stalkers,Inc.The Khomandai Fund,The Time Core Corporation,The Kulthan Foundation,Shaitanus Enterprises,Inc,The Moontharr Preservation Corporation, and such ,who are all semi-philanphropic enterprises.
The Khomandai Fund-is an organization, who is a world wide Great Disaster relief operation. humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education inside the world of it’s operation. It helps worlds and the local region within them with medical assistance, insurance against damages caused by the cataclysm and financial assistance to help rebuild the area. This includes the local military organization, when possible. It also, helps the other organizations that assist disaster relief situation such as the New Genisis Project, who also act as an interstellar and international rescue, research and rebirth operation. The Khomandai Fund, comes from an alternate Earth( Earth 9173),where the planet surfered a world wide disaster and little was done to help the situation for many thousands of generations. The Khomandai Valley was the first place of Terra-Prime,where this operation was used successfully. The Khomandhai Valley Warriors, transplanted from that alternate earth worldline, adapted pretty well to this new settlement with various locations of Northern Almerhann. The Khomandhai Warriors, strong resilliant super warriors, similar to the Kalladon, but trained in more phychological training as an Omega Warrior,to handle knives, guns, electro shock poles, armed with explosive charges at the tip called ‘’Boom Boom Sticks.’’because of the load boom noise they make as they strike a target.set about to transform the area into a more viable settlement. The Khomandhai Warriors took to river rafting and speed boat patrol,to travel around the Post Cataclysmic Era of Northern Almerhann,Weastern Pangea,Terra-Prime.The Khomandai Valley River Rangers,in time grew into the Northern Almerhann Coast Guard Services.

Description The Northern Almerhann Coast Guard, in its literature, describes itself as "a military, maritime, multi-mission service within the Department of Homeland Security dedicated to protecting the safety and security of Northern Almerhann." It differs from the other armed services of the Pan Almerhann Federation; in that the other four armed services are components of the Department of Defense. coast guard is a national organization responsible for various services at sea. However the term implies widely different responsibilities in different countries. Among the responsibilities that may be entrusted to a coast guard service are enforcement of maritime law, maintenance of seamarks, border control, and other services. During wartime coast guards might be responsible for harbour defense, port security, naval counterintelligence and coastal patrols.
Admiralty law (also referred to as maritime law) is a distinct body of law which governs maritime questions and offenses. It is a body of private international law governing the relationships between private entities which operate vessels on the oceans. It is distinguished from the Law of the Sea, which is a body of public international law dealing with navigational rights, mineral rights, jurisdiction over coastal waters and international law governing relationships between nations.
Role The Northern Almerhann Coast Guard has a broad and important role in homeland security, law enforcement, search and rescue, marine environmental pollution response, and the maintenance of river, intracoastal and offshore aids to navigation (ATON).
(1) carry a firearm; (2) execute and serve any order, warrant, subpoena, summons, or other process issued under the authority of the Pan Almerhann Federation; (3) make an arrest without a warrant for any offense against the Pan Almerhann Federation; committed in the officer's presence or for a felony, cognizable under the laws of the Pan Almerhann Federation; committed outside the officer's presence if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing a felony; and (4) perform any other law enforcement duty that the Secretary of the Treasury may designate.
The current nine Recruit Training Objectives are:
Self-discipline Military skills Marksmanship Vocational skills and academics
Military bearing Physical fitness and wellness Water survival and swim qualifications
Esprit de corps Core values (Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty)The New Genesis Bunker operation, has been successful upon such worlds as Terra-Prime, Alpha Temporus,Earth 9173,and other worldlines. Often seen as huge, crystal mountain tops, roughly resemble a mountainous lava plug, the New Genesis Bunkers rest underneath these Great Atlantean Plateau structures, that make up the upper levels of the New Genesis operation. There ancient Atlantean Ruins for ‘’G ‘’ and ‘’B’’ can be found in the Atlantean alphabet, over doors or other areas where the Bunkers can be found and access to by way of heavy security doors. Sometimes Sidairian Monolith or Marker Pylons can be guides to a New Genesis Bunker area. New Genesis Bunker Survey Teams-missionaries of mercy, medical assistance, protection, and so on, use them as guides back to their location, especially if their hand sensor or global positioning devices are not available.
New Genesis agents-.New Genesis Bunker Survey Teams, often work with organization such as the members of the Legion of Time-Sorcerers, Alpha Omega Warriors, the Temporal Guardians, the Knight Angels, the Khomandhai Valley Warriors, the Thuvian Rangers, the Terran Federation Rangers, most like the Sub Shuttle Tunnel Stalkers teams, Project; Time-Stalkers, Inc., The Spartarian Warriors, the Spartaxian Ninja Warriors, the Avengerai Warriors and so on.
The New Genesis Bunker are similar to many hidden sanctuary command operations. They are used as storage and shelter areas. Many of the underground sub basements or bunkers are used as time capsules, that can extend for miles around a New Genesis Bunker site, complete with power reactors, command bridge area, several auxiliary command bridges, museum areas, backup power reactors, maintained plants, atmosphere environmental operations plants and so for the for a smooth continuing operation of the bunker base. Various criminals, politicians, scientists, and inventors who populate the dystopian world outside the Bunkers.
The New Genesis Bunker concept was inspired by several different concepts used in other science fiction projects-the Pax operation, found within the Carlsbad caverns, from the TV movie Genesis II., the Down under from Cadillac and Dinosaurs, The Krell underground divination found within the movie Forbidden Planet,

Plot Summary for Genesis II (1973) (TV)Dylan Hunt, a scientist, puts himself into suspended animation in a NASA cavern in 1979 to establish if he could be brought back to life in a couple of days to research into extending the process to astronauts. However, the cavern collapses during an earthquake and Dylan doesn't recover until the year 2133. During the 154 years he had slept, war has broken out and the world's scientists rebelled against the war-loving military and developed a society known as the Pax, whose goal is to keep the spirit of mankind alive. Ax main headquarters resides in Cheyenne Mountain, where Norad once existed. They use sub shuttles to travel around the earth-as sub sonic speeds. The Subshuttles were underground transit systems used by PAX to get around the Globe. They were constructed when "Air Travel" became too vulnerable prior to "The Great Conflict" However there are also the mutant Tyranians who plan to be Nazi-like rulers of the slowly recovering world. Dylan is tricked by the Tyranians who plan to use his knowledge of the past to rebuild their nuclear generator and therefore make their plans complete. Can the Pax and Dylan stop them or will the man from the past destroy the future?...
Editors Notes; Unfortunately, the CBS people went what they thought was a superior project, because movies had a fan following-the Planet of the Apes tv series.which turns out stunk.
Plot Summary for Planet Earth (1974) (TV)Planet Earth is a sequel to Gene Roddenberry's Genesis II (1973) made-for-TV movie, in which a NASA scientist, Dylan Hunt, is revived from suspended animation in the post-nuclear war United States. In Planet Earth, Dylan is now a sworn member of PAX, the colony of people who revived him. Dylan and his PAX team find another colony which is ruled by women and where all men are slaves. He is captured and sold as a slave, but escapes and organizes a rebellion. Dylan once again has a profound influence in the new world that he finds himself in, in the year 2233.
Incoming air may be filtered through a system of chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear (CBRN) filters to remove harmful pathogens and/or radioactive and chemical particles. The fresh air intake is mainly from the south portal access which is 17 ½ feet (5.3 m) high and 15 feet (4.6 m) wide and linked to the north portal access which is 22 ½ feet (7 m) high and 29 feet (9 m) wide. The entire tunnel from north to south entry portals is nine-tenths of a mile (1.5 km) long.Onsite Atmosphere or Oxigen Plants are also found,to reproduce a breathhable atmosphere, incase the Shadow Complex is shut off or sealed off from outside atmosphere ventilation, with due a cave in or outside pollutants, such as an atmosphere bombardment or containmination.
The  Mount Kronus 's outer walls and windows are constructed of advanced carbon-fiber composites, said to be nearly comparable in strength to diamond. Numerous small tubes run throughout the sections of the building occupied by the Project; Time Stalkers,Inc, enabling Mister Fantastic to easily stretch to any floor or area. One elevator shaft has been deliberately left empty, to facilitate the Human Torch's rapid flight to and from the upper floors. There are a set of "breakaway points" above the 50th and 70th stories with built-in explosive charges, designed to separate the upper floors from the civilian-occupied lower floors, should anyone try to lift the building into orbit. On the 30th floor is the reception area where visitors are greeted by the Project; Time Stalkers, Inc’s receptionist staff. The 31st floors contain the Project; Time Stalkers, Inc living quarters.
The 33rd floor contains Project; Time Stalkers, Inc’s laboratory. . The floor plan is constantly changing as Project; Time Stalkers, Inc adds additional experiments and devices. The 35th floor contains the hangar for the Project; Time Stalkers, Inc s various vehicles, storage space, and a machine shop capable of building or repairing vehicles.
(Armory: Project Time Stalkers,Inc. maintains a hidden armory vault inside of the Fortress. In the vault are various weapons and firearms confiscated from alien cultures on past missions,as well as standard weapons, field equipment and other useful paraphenalia for various members to use for Away Team Field use.Specific location around  Mount Kronus and within the Underground Shadow Complex, hold various known and secret Time Vaults-specic safe house locations, for use by staff and military personell, can be found all over the Time Stalkers area )
Chronopis City-otherwise known as the Shadow Complex,on many official government ducuments,is actually a vast 50 mile around ancient Tauron City, built around the existing Terran New Genesis Bunker complex-hosts much of the action in the series and is the source of much of the technology which the characters employ. While trying to uncover the secrets the city still holds from her new human inhabitants, the terran expedition also use the Time Portal to explore the Milky Way galaxy, looking for energy sources and other technology that the Ancients Atlantean and Taurons may have left behind and that may help them defeat the two sides of the Temporal Cold War. Mount Kronus is surrounded by a wall twelve feet high and one foot thick, as well as an array of high-tech security defenses.Outside of this is the huge ring shapred mountainous plateaue, and high mountain ring, that surround  Mount Kronus .Only a single pass,is found that allows travellers to come and go from the plateau ring.Armed Guards surround the main front security gate.
A main feature of the defenses were large, restrictive coils. These were sometimes backed up by energy beams that shot out from the ground. A portion of  Mount Kronus ’s surrounding area served as a hangar for the militaries air traffic, plus members of Project Time Stalkers,Inc.Shuttle craft and Repulsor Copters their primary mode of transportation, along Speeder Cars and Spike-Speeder Bikes.. parking, docking and hangar space (as appropriate) for his various vehicles as well as separate exits for the various types of vehicles, located near by on the landing area.
Mount Kronus houses the Time Stalkers's vast array of specialized vehicles, (mostly for nostalgia as well as for contingencies, as all are serviceable and in excellent working condition). The Time Stalkers keeps a fleet of regular cars of various models and utility vehicles such as an ambulance as well when the various other vehicles would be too conspicuous for a mission. Other vehicles within the complex include various motorcycles, and various air and watercraft such as The , a single occupant supersonic jet. Another vehicle found in the Batcave is the subway rocket, , during the time when It allowed project to quickly enter  Mount Kronus , and could electronically clear a path via underground subterrainian shuttle transit Rail system.
31.6 Holographic Imaging Chamber  Edit
Holographic Imaging Chamber-a kind of holodeck, that can recreate realistic images from anywhere in time and space. The images can be tramsmitted and projected two ways. The holographic images in Imaging Chamber can tramsmitted to small Holo Bee,a holo remote droid,a holo pad or large portable holo chamber either destination. And holo images can recreate a single image, such as a figure or the whole surrounding environment arround him or her.Inside the holochanger the user can move anywhere-up or down, depending of the holographic treadmills ability recreat solid holo images. To the user, these images look, feel, taste, sound and smell like the real thing.Speculation,is this technology, insn't far different than Holo Space, but on a smaller scale.

•  Mount Kronus 's foundation reaches 150' into the Nevada state bedrock, re-inforced with various Atlantean and Sidairian supermaterial, that provide-stability for main tower structure and New Genesis Bunker complex... There are ten floors here. Sublevels 1-2 are used by the building's maintenance staff. Sublevels 3-4 contain the freight docks and tenant warehouse facilities. A railroad spur enables large masses of freight to be moved in or out without the need to deal with the impenetrable Chronopis City.traffic. The basement of the main building contained the conventional support facilities for the above-ground levels, including the heating system, the power generator, and the house computer. It was a low security area. Sublevels 5-15 are restricted to the member of Project Time Stalker, Inc.mainly the top department heads of the project, Board of Directors and primary support stafff members. SUB-BASEMENT LEVEL ONE The two sub-levels of the Avengers Compound comprised the high-security area of the headquarters. On Sub-Level One was the private infirmary and biological and chemical research facilities. The Project Time Stalkers a resident physician is located there with the Compound areas bunker level Sickbay area. Staff scientist and Compound manager made extensive use of the laboratory facilities.

SUB-BASEMENT LEVEL TWO Level Two houses the high-security Assembly Room where all operational and strategic meetings were held. The main computer was located here, containing the same crime forensic files, operational records, and world security data as other international agecies and other similar other temporal lane Project Time Stalkers,Inc sites and alternate time line versions of the Time Stalker project. The computers were constantly in communication with one another, sharing all data. Like their other time line counterparts, the Project Time Stalkers had limited direct access to the national security data of the United States Pentagon and a common database with the United World Central Intelligence Agency, as well as routine information trades with Fate Enterprises,Inc. and with Sarkhon Enterprise,Inc.s Doomwatchers Squade. The power generators for the two Sub-Basement levers were located here. HANGAR The Hangar/Garage facility was separated from the Main Building of the Mountain Compound by about one hundred feet. Above ground is an eight-car garage and a hangar facility for visiting helicopters and other VTOL or hovercraft type vehicles- Sky-Cycle and two extras were stored here. There was no runway for the landing of conventional fixed-wing aircraft. Beneath the garage was the automobile service area. Beneath the upper hangar was the main shuttle craft launch, landing, storage, and maintenance facility. There was room for four quinjets; three in the maintenance bays, and one on the catapult launcher. The entrance to the underground hangar was disguised as part of the natural cliffside and can be opened remotely by any quinjet. The Hangar/Garage facility and all Project Time Stalkers vehicles are serviced by resident mechanic. Mini-Submarine - A one-man scout sub that can out run and out flank almost any torpedo, can be found located within the Time Stalkers underground submarine pen or harbor. • These floors contain special devices and support facilities for floors 71-100. These include a back-up computer system, generators, holding cells, and any large items the Project Time Stalkers might not want on the upper floors.
Sublevel 5 contains the water filled conduit that reaches the near by rivers and underground artificial river systems; this permits aquatic visitors to directly reach the Project Time Stalkers without suffering the indignity of having to swim through the Chronopis City.sewer system.

The Project Time Stalkers, Inc, which includes  Mount Kronus , the Shadow Complex and surrounding Area 51, is power by several reactor cores, located at various underground locations. The Shadow Complex a circular -shaped underground complex of various alien machine, top secret laboritories, living areas, military subbasements ,storage areas, phisical and holo libraries, safe houses,Time Vaults, 8,000 cubic miles in volume (20 miles on a side), powered by 9200 thermonuclear reactors, and has been operating and self-repairing since the forced evacuation of the Tauron and Tykhon invasion force some centuries before by the joined Terran,Temporal Guardian and Atlantean Time Sorcerer forces.

Various air shafts, turbo lifts-that permit travel all over the Shadow Complex, Mount Kronus and surround areas, that include the outside subterrainian area-sub shuttle transit system, shaft houses and so for the members of the Time Stalkers to make use of . Zoo: Project Time Stalkers maintained an elaborate game preserve filled with various interplanetary animals, found with secured location with the Shadow Complex underground Bunker area. Many of the animals found in the zoo were either representatives of an endangered species, or the last surviving specimens of destroyed worlds.

Nevada. Project; Time Stalkers,Inc has applied for many land-use zone variations to allow massive reconstruction of the top five floors for the installation of a heavily-silenced silo, with a muffled rocket.
Time Missiles were a Time Sorcerers which would freeze a target in time. Most Star Castles and Star Palaces carried time missiles, firing them from Warp silos. They would create a halo effect when fired. Project Time Stalkers,Inc.has the authority to make use of various defenses at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) the United States Air Force defense operation initiated at the Cheyenne Mountain site,in the 1956.
The design of the headquarters of the Project; Time Stalkers,Inc is along strictly utilitarian lines, except for apartments and public areas. All aspects of the design are constantly being improved, including security. For example, windows are 2 ft thick composites of various glasses and plastics which are mirrored on the outside. Solid, armored, exterior walls are also mirror-clad and are indistinguishable from transparent sections. suggest that  Mount Kronus and Project Time Stalkers,Inc. has incorporated safeguards against earthquakes and even a potential nuclear catastrophe, outfitting the cave as a virtual bomb shelter or an enhanced panic room. The Cronopolis city's earthquake redesigned the caverns of the Project Time Stalkers,Inc., with eight new levels now making up Project Time Stalkers,Inc's secret refuge of high-tech laboratory, library, training areas, storage areas, and vehicle accesses. It also includes an "island" computer platform (built on the spot where the vehicles' hydraulic turntable once was) with seven linked Cray T932 mainframes and a state-of-the-art- hologram projector. With the cave's various facilities spread amid limestone stalactites and stalagmites, Project Time Stalkers,Inc. built retractable multi-walkway bridges, stairs, elevators, and poles to access its facilities.
The top five sections of the  Mount Kronus 's are completely airtight; all doors are airlocks. Complete environmental support (including atmosphere) is provided by the area between elevators 2, 3, and 4 on all floors. Blast shelters are a vital form of protection from nuclear attack and are employed in civil defense. There are above-ground, below-ground, dedicated, dual-purpose, and potential blast shelters. Dedicated blast shelters are built specifically for the purpose of blast protection (see bunker). Dual-purpose blast shelters are existing structures with blast protective properties that have been modified to accommodate people in their seeking protection from blast. Potential blast shelters are existing structures or geological features exhibiting blast protective properties that have potential to be used for protection from blast Blast shelters deflect the blast wave from nearby explosions to prevent ear and internal injuries to people sheltering in the bunker. While frame buildings collapse from as little as 3 psi (20 kPa) of overpressure, blast shelters are regularly constructed to survive several hundred psi. This substantially decreases the likelihood that a bomb can harm the structure. The building's steel-alloy framework is rigid enough to be stood on one corner and not collapse The buffer-zone is the interface between the top five floors and the lower levels. It provides a rapid-disconnect between upper and lower segments of building. It contains an array of large oil-rams to dampen any oscillations between the five upper levels and the base of the building. The buffer-zone contains some support equipment for the upper levels, but mostly it is the "mechanical floor," which provides heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and elevator support equipment for the lower 30 stories.
Project Time Stalkers,Inc. serves as the personels's command center, where he monitors all crisis points in local area, throughout temporal space and the world. The Projects's centerpiece is a supercomputer or Artificial Intelligence ,Magnus 5000 whose specs are on par with any of those used by leading national security agencies; it permits global surveillance and also connects to a massive information network as well as storing vast amounts of information, both on Project Time Stalkers,Inc.'s foes and his allies. A series of satellite link-ups allows easy access to the Projects's information network anywhere in the globe. The systems are protected against unauthorized access, and any attempt to breach this security immediately sends an alert to the Time Stalker operation or outside agencies like Sarkhon or Fate Enterprises. Despite the power of Temporal Agemcies computers, the Sarkhon Enterprises various Star Castle Space Platforms located around the Terran star system and Terran Space is known to have more powerful computers (composed of Atlantean, Sidairian and other Elder Super Races technology), and members of Project Time Stalkers does occasionally use them if they feels thier computers are not up to the task; on occasion the Time Stalkers also consults The Temporal Oracle Magnus 5000 for assistance.

Magnus 5000,is one of Eath’s most advance artificial intelligence known exist. It has in operation, since the New Genisis Bunkers beginnings and has stored the memory isolinear tapes of 27 known Galaxies around the Milky Way Galaxy. However,Magnus has been programmed or designed to keep key imformation about specific temporal events, specifically those involving future Terran interstellar history, such those vital or considered harmful to the future formation of the Terran Federation. This Fortress contains numerous "memory crystals" that can be used to access interactive isolinear crystal holographic recordings of various former members of Project Time Stalkers,Inc,Atlanteans such as Professor Thuzan Thune Sarkhon and other Atlanteans, and other super beings, found within Project Time Stalkers,Inc.Protective Archive Holo Library.
The Temporal prison was a weapon used by various Time Agents to prevent other time travellers from altering or tampering with timelanes. These prisons, often huge, cell blocks also known as the Time Brig, use specialized temporal force fields to contain a convicted prisoner or suspected criminal from escaping the prison,by way of some sort of temporal jump point device,to use personal wormhole . This maximum-security prison was built to hold many temporal violators of time travel. The prison has been the focus of much governmental investigations, as it would be a scandal to learn that the United States is using murderous super villains to further it's own ends. Security guards at the prison wore armored Temporal Guardian uniforms. These suits, similar in appearance to the armor worn by the original Temporal Guardsman The Taurons and the Tykhon or Tykhoneans are an offshoot colony of the Atlantean race, who society is more militaristic based-more totalitarian based. the Tauron’s are of one of the more advanced timelines discover the secret of changing universes, and then they spread out across the time-lines to study, trade, and exploit the alternate worldlines. . They have no problem interfering in the course of each planets history. Each time-line is its own experiment in altering history. The Tauron’s and Tykhon have created their own forms of the Time Patrol agency, known as the Tauron Temporal Centaurian Agency or the the Tyknon or Tykhonean Temporal Patrol Agency.established by a super-advanced race who are the million-year descendants of humanlike beings. Although time travel was invented or discovered in the distant past or in the near future, the far future people created the Time Patrol to prevent accidental alterations in the fabric of history altering certain time lances vital to the stability of the Tauron and Tykhon Empires.
Editors Note- The New Genesis Bunker concept was inspired by several different concepts used in other science fiction projects-the Pax operation, found within the Carlsbad caverns, from the TV movie Genesis II., the Down under from Cadillac and Dinosaurs, The Krell underground divination found within the movie Forbidden Planet,

Editors Notes; Unfortunately, the CBS people went what they thought was a superior project, because movies had a fan following-the Planet of the Apes tv series.which turns out stunk.

this huge complex was partially inspired by Time Tunnels Project Tick Tock-what I could gather watching various episode and what is found the internet, the Fantastic Fours Baxter Building and Four Freedoms Plaza, Challengers of the Unknown with an hourglass being their company logo and a special hollowed out mountain called the Challengers of the Unknown Mountain, plus bits of Star gate’s two headquarter-the one on Earth at Cheyenne Mountain. Col. and the one at Atlantis, located within the Pegasus Galaxy, bits of the Star Ship Enterprise and other star ships, star bases and so on, used in Star Trek, some Star Wars ‘s ships, bases and such. The Krell underground city, found in the movie Forbidden Planet also is a direct influence of how the Time Stalkers,Inc,headquarter is presentes,as Batmans Batcace, both Doc Savage and Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, are a just few inspiration, that need to be mentioned here,as a matter of record.
